Can you please let me know if there is a way to get the BCH back if I transfer BSV back to electrumSV wallet?
The problem is that while, theoretically, any BSV you transfer could be "replayed" on the BCH chain (there was no replay protection implemented if I understand correctly)... the BSV that you send back from the exchange is most likely not going to be from the same address as the one you accidentally sent the BCH to, as exchanges tend to use "pool" addresses. In other words, coins you withdraw do not come from your own deposit address.

Because of this, the address that the BSV will be sent from, most likely won't have any BCH associated with it... so replaying the transaction won't return coins on the BCH network.

Additionally, it seems that exchanges and some wallets actually implemented their own "in house" replay protection (I would guess by using UTXOs unique to BSV and/or BCH network in transactions) to prevent people getting "extra" coins by withdrawing BSV and getting bonus BCH (and vice versa) Tongue

If they say no, can I still use SV to get BCH back?
Sorry to say but it's not possible since BCH also irreversible crypto-currency. Only way I told you convince exchange to recover for you. If you had hold your private keys then it was possible very easily. But any exchange will never give you private keys.

Can you please let me know if there is a way to get the BCH back if I transfer BSV back to electrumSV wallet?
I told you that whatever wallet you are using doesn't matter. But you should have private keys of your address where you have sent fund. If you have private keys then you may spent your coin by using electron cash as I have said above. You may follow above instructions.

By electrumSV wallet did you mean electrumsv.io ? They are only allow use BSV, so you have to use some other wallet like Electron Cash.

Quote from: electrumsv.io
The only cryptocurrency ElectrumSV supports is Bitcoin SV

Unfortunately btcmarkets doesn't provide retrieval services.

While we understand that this can be a stressful experience, BTC Markets does not provide a Coin/Token retrieval service.

The only way to recover coins sent to wrong blockchains is if you have the corresponding private key of the address the coins were sent to. In that case you need to create a new wallet in the correct software and import your private key.
If the funds were sent to an exchange, only they have the private keys. Depending on the exchange and amount they may or may not be willing to help you. Your best bet is to wait and see what they respond over support.

Thanks for your response.

Using Blockchair I can see I have send Bitcoin cash to Bitcoin SV. I use BTC market, I just emailed them to see if this is a way to refund back BCH, waiting for their response. If they say no, can I still use SV to get BCH back?

I tried to use Electron SV not Electron cash which is where I may have made the mistake as it kept giving me Gateway time out error when trying to split. But I saw SV so I thought coin got split but it wasnt.

Thank you

I have a ledger hardware wallet and I wanted to do the coin splitting using Electrum. Seems like splitting didn't work and I mistakenly send BCH to BSV exchange account thinking I had send BSV. I can receive the BSV back to Electrum Wallet however I am not sure about how to get BCH and BSV as BCH may have been converted to BSV so I may not get the BCH as coin splitting wasnt done?
First you need to confirm exactly which coin have you sent and which address. Please check address on Blockchair. Your balance should be visible to BCH blockchain if you sent BCH instead of BSV. So, since you have sent it to the exchange, only way to recover it via exchange support. You have to explain that you have sent BCH to BSV address. Every exchange have different policy about recover cross chain transaction. So you may share with us about which exchange you have been used.

Did you attempted to claim BSV fork of BCH? If so, then it won't split automatically. You could claim it on Electron Cash wallet by using your Ledger nano. For splitting your coin you should read A Guide to Splitting BCH and BSV, every step has been explained clearly there, hope it will help you to claim your BSV.  However it would be more easy to solve your issue if you describe more. Exactly what were you going to do, also you may share address where you sent BCH (don't share if you have privacy problems), there is not other harm to share address.
