I think once this forum is migrated into Epochtalk. All user settings remain the same, otherwise, what would be the purpose of the database that admin keeps backing up?  Wink

Those who have animated avatars here will still have them over there unless Theymos just decided to turn off everything concerning animated avatars.

Most things will be grandfathered in most likely, like animated avatars, weird ASCII symbols in usernames ( ¤ ¥ § © ® ³ µ ¶ ¸ ¹ ¼ ½ ¾ ) etc, but will not be allowed moving forward. Most weird symbols have already been removed from the ASCII permitted symbols list for new users...

yeah, you do have a good point, and I really hope so too. Though I still wish to have one even just with my alt (might get copper membership as it still Newbie/Jr) Smiley

Then how about just turning it on for a week then some users will have the right to keep their moving avatars here from there, example is the licking boob of Vod. Some old users would still prefer their old avatars that represents them from the start up until now, and  think that's for sure.

The feature was working perfectly under this current forum software, and it was turned off on request which means even if epochtalk supports the animated avatar, once this forum is migrated there, Admin will still very likely keep the feature turned off for the same exact reasons its off right now.

The vanilla version of Epochtalk accepts gifs as avatars. And a few other features.

The bitcointalk implementation will have some features turned off and some others custom made especially for it. Not sure if the animated avatars will be kept or not... but I tend to agree with SFR10 that most likely it will not make the final cut.

on one of the forums [Coinbistro.com - Epochtalk testing grounds] that's using Epochtalk

I just wanted to give it a try too and couldn't easily find a link to a test forum, since we had moving avatars here for a while.
Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to have here a pinned topic with links (and maybe the version they use).

it annoyed a lot of users back then
Ooohhh, I didn't know why they got removed/banned. Now it's clear, thanks  Wink

Can we have the GIF or moving images as AVATARS on the new website?
I just created an account for testing purposes on one of the forums [Coinbistro.com - Epochtalk testing grounds] that's using Epochtalk and I was able to upload an animated avatar.
- Having said that, I don't think we'll have that feature when it launches [it annoyed a lot of users back then].
