It is sad that a big number of beginners experienced being scammed first before learning and acknowledging online scams. The world is turning more digital and the internet is a necessity, fiat scammers are also learning how to scam online.
Beginners are in the crypto world are just like babies,  they quickly believe any information they get from anyone out there,  they find it difficult to quickly detect scam but every beginners grow with the experience they come across. A beginner who is not giving good orientation about scammers from people or read, I don't think such beginners can easily avoid all scammers that will come their way because scammers always have good strategies in getting beginners.

Quote
My simple advice to beginners I encountered is to remind them that nobody will make effort to look for their contact numbers, emails, telegrams, discords, twitters and other platforms only to offer them money. All links from unknown sources will be treated as scams and with malware.
Their is no place in the world where they give money for free, if anyone is trying to offer free money it is important for people to know it is nothing but a scam. Their is a price that must be paid by hardwork to get money.

I have also received this type of message before, the scammer even included the sit to login, so i try to login after I login I saw the balance in usdt with hug amount but I don't login the details through my phone and make th
sure the person's phone I used doesn't know anything about crypto take less wallet.

It is only does  who are desperate to be rich that fall to this kind of victims. Once you see this kind of message with this kind details someone should able to think that this can't be for real because they will never include the withdrawal password.it will be hard to fall under the hands of scammers once you are not eager to be rich  in easy ways, and being sincere.

Experience has made you more wary of messages from strangers that are suspected of being fraudulent.
No need to follow step by step which will eventually drain your wallet. The way they do it is very common, it's strange that there are still some people who are attracted by the lure of money being offered. If we think with common sense, there is no easy money to come without a little bit of effort.
Scammers never stop setting traps to get what they want, people who are attracted to the prizes offered will not have the slightest suspicion that they are in a trap that can make the assets in their wallet disappear.

Yes you are right OP. Anything that a stranger sends to you with a suspicious link and asking for you to input your wallet details is definitely a scam. People should not be messaging you about registering in a certain suspicious link without any further details. If you truly want to double check if what they are offering is true, then better check this forum for feedback about the said link/website.

Like what I also experienced OP, getting scammed makes you more vigilant and careful. It teaches you on how to be resilient and cautious about all the links that are being sent. If you find yourself in a situation contemplating on whether a link is a scam or not, you already know the answer!
The message sent to the OP is very easy to identify as a scam case because the anonymous sender's account is used to send chain messages to random people. I have an alternative telegram account to join the altcoin community and I receive a lot of dm like the message OP received. So we have to ignore incoming anonymous messages and suggest that you should block anonymous contacts because some cases of investment scams look convincing for high profits and even they distribute your first profit to influence you to increase investment value. So be careful, you can confirm suspicious messages to experienced friends or you can also confirm in forums to help other beginners not to be attracted from the high profit offers of scam investment projects.

We know that no one has free money to give anyone, so if you try to accept the offer, you will undoubtedly be scammed by scammers. This is one of the reasons why beginners or newcomers sometimes fall victim to these types of scams. We must avoid participating in cryptocurrency giveaways because they are all scams that expose your wallets and cause you to lose money.

It triggered my curiosity too but after logging in and taking a look at the different features of the website am still not sure how this scam works, although am convinced it's a scam.
I don't think it's the security key which is used to scam (why didn't they simply call it private key!). Besides, I created a new account and fond out that you have to set the security key when you register. This is why I don't think it's related.

Then I cannot understand the logic of the person who sent the username and password of this account. Why did this person only send username and password? Why didn't he also send the security key if he is so willing to share the assets in the account?

I still know of scammers who use diabolic means to woe their victims one just has to be extremely careful.
Heck i never believe in such things, i have heard it quite a lot of times from different people; but imo such a thing does not exist, the thing is that people who are moved by avarice do stupid things, and these things they do, more often than not gets them scammed, they even fall for the most obvious of scams, thus after falling for such scams and having lost all their money, they then come back to their senses and realise how stupid they were to have been easily deceived in that way, and the only explanation they can give is that diabolism was involved, but it wasn't; it was their avarice that blocked them from thinking straight.

Most of the time, such scams are common on the Telegram network, in which an unknown user will message you and refer you to a clone website or exchange seeking your assistance to help him/her aid withdrawal claiming he/she has exceeded the limit, and will also promise you some certain percentage in the money, once you accept the offer and decide to withdraw the funds, they will ask you to deposit to your wallet and that's when the scam comes in, let us be careful as scammers have various methods of duping victims.

Scamming formats are getting new daily. @ Xal0lex was bold to open the link but the shock is the private key demanded by the scammer and for newbies who know little about how to secure their private keys will fall for that cheap scam. Sometimes one will see it as golden opportunity and out of excitement give out their keys to scammers. I still know of scammers who use diabolic means to woe their victims one just has to be extremely careful.

it looks like the scammer decided to combine two different scams together, the "enter seed phrase" scam and the "mysterious account with tons of money" scam(not sure what really the scams are called so I gave them a name). anyway, Glad, you took the time to look further into this scam.

Yes, you are right. The scammer needed to be credited with the need to log into the account as soon as possible since someone else could do it earlier. Time limits, with the words "urgent" or "offer ends in 15 minutes," simply will not let the opponent think, and greedy people very often peck at such bait. I saw a friend send all of his money because he thought he won an iPhone by reading an ad and thought he was extremely lucky.
People need to introduce psychology lessons in the very primary grades, since scammers very often use the emotions of people who cannot assess the situation in time. Smiley

it's good you learned from your previous mistake because some people don't.

I decided to check to satisfy my curiosity. I logged in using the login and password shown in the picture. This was the page that greeted me.

-snip

I clicked on the "Output" button.

On this page it is proposed to enter only the amount for withdrawal, and the address is not possible to enter. From the drop-down list you can choose one of the two addresses specified in this list. It is not clear.

-snip

Okay, I chose one of the two proposed addresses and clicked on "Withdrawal". A window popped up prompting me to enter a secure key.

-snip

This is where the whole fraud scheme is revealed. A man, not understanding can enter a secure key from his wallet and... Goodbye to the entire balance.

your action to ignore this message is correct. because it is very clear that such messages are traps from fraudsters. which is even sent randomly to many people. I also ever received a message like that, maybe it can even be said that I often receive messages like that. The wisest move is simply to ignore it.

Only a greedy person will fall to this trap, no person will send a detail that has a good amount of usdt.  I know scammers use different strategies to get people,  but this one is too easy for someone fall for itt thinking is not a scam.  Receiving message from a strange number to offer to give money can never be genuine .

Yeah, you are right. I also think greedy folks are more likely to fall victim to this particular type of scam. Scammers would always try to up their game using different and new techniques to try and fool their prospective victims.

This particular scam is new to me as I haven’t exactly come across this type before. But it screamed scam from the beginning as why would you be sent a wallet supposedly containing a huge amount of assets that you have no prior knowledge of?

Receiving a text from a strange number with a luring offer to give you money does not just happen. No one gives away money for the fun of it.

Those that are greedy and thinks that they've taken a jackpot are the ones likely that will experience to be scammed by those text messages. They think that someone has mistakenly sent them those login credentials that contains money.

But yeah, the tactic goes by when they will try to withdraw the money, it won't be allowed and they'll be asked for a deposit and the cycle goes on until they'll realize that they've been fooled.

Oh, maybe people will think the sender mistakenly sent the message to them. 🤔 that's another one, greedy people will easily take the bait 100% .

I won't pity anyone that fall victim to this because it's easy to see that it's a luring trick, why claim something you never work for? Like I've said, only greedy people will fall for this scam.

Good thing that I never entertain this kind of scams.
A random stranger just giving you SMS with a login credentials that leads to a wallet with millions worth of crypto? Come on.
I had received plenty of SMS that even gets automatically marked as spam by my phone and regardless if it was marked or not, I would not click any sort of link from my messages.

This is where the whole fraud scheme is revealed. A man, not understanding can enter a secure key from his wallet and... Goodbye to the entire balance.
Someone that is desperate is likely to be one of the victim of these.

Any message coming from an unfamiliar person should arouse suspicion. Ask yourself where you left your contacts. Is your phone number visible to strangers? Whether Is it allowed in your settings to invite you to groups? All these precautions are necessary to minimize the risks of clicking on all sorts of links that scammers regularly send everywhere.
Do not leave your contacts; why do you need strangers on the Internet who mostly have selfish goals?

Okay, I chose one of the two proposed addresses and clicked on "Withdrawal". A window popped up prompting me to enter a secure key.
I thought it was an old trick when you will hit the withdraw button it has a minimum amount that is required before you can initiate a withdrawal, so you need to deposit the required amount which leads you to get a scam.   But this is different now, asking for your secure key which is not given based on OP's image shown.  But is there anyone who falls into this trap?  It's obvious that it's a scam trap.

That's why we should always be vigilant in dealing with strangers people who send PM first.
There are too many ways how to scam naive people that new to crypto, but it has an advantage if you've knowledge on it.

That's pure scam!!!
I'm just happy you didn't give out any response to that. These are one of the ways that people get scammed Everyday and, as a matter of fact -- when this people get scammed once, they'll live to learn their lessons from it -- they avoid falling into the same mistake next time. These guys are coming up with newly oriented ways to get peeps scammed of their coins so I'd advise that you keep whatever you have in you intact and don't believe anything you see on net.

Quoting for visibility.

And yes, this is a obvious scam that has been running for years now. And it's good that you didn't fall for this trap. This could be like

1. you login and see that amount
2. however before you can withdraw they will ask you to deposit first
3. and that's where you get trap because once you deposit, you can't withdraw that amount

Yes, it's definitely a scam. I've been hearing about fake USDT mint and trading platforms for a while now. But I'm not sure this is the same as what you're talking about. They will often contact you via Telegram or Whatsapp and provide you with a username and password. As if by accident. When you log into the website, you'll find that there's an unusually high amount of USDT (of course it's not real) which you won't be able to withdraw.

They're using old techniques but coming up with new names everyday for scamming new set of people.
