How is that even FUD to you anyway? Also, that account is just lucky to have snatched the name @Bitcoin before anyone else does, and whoever runs it shouldn't be trusted as an authority when it comes to market movements and all that stuff. No official bitcoin online handles should be trusted in terms of speculation IN ANY WAY, else you are just inviting yourself to be a victim of receiving an advice from possibly anyone that may or may not have any idea regarding trading at all.

While there's thankfully no central authority on Bitcoin and thus opinions on a Bitcoin account don't mean that someone very important is feeling bearish, the account does have 5.6 million followers, which makes it quite significant in terms of influence. I found an article that explores the topic of the owner of the account and how the owner and authors of posts changed, as well as controversial tweets.
So we shouldn't take it any more seriously than a different Twitter account with a similar audience.

Is it really that bearish? The account posts some speculative charts and they show a perspective of the person who made them. The account isn't saying get ready because bitcoin is going down but rather asking what do you think about it, could it be that bad. I wouldn't take anything you see on twitter or youtube too seriously. I held my coins at the covid crash to 3k and I held them when we broke 60k. A few scammers like Do Kwon and SBF weeded out of the system is really a good thing for bitcoin. Would you rather it happened now or in 2 years when we're about to hit a new high and then everything crashes and we go from a bear market recovery back into a bear market for another year or so?

Twitter is considered a favorite place for investors, all information is regularly and fully updated on it, and as long as you know how to select information, it will be very useful.

What kind of investors are you talking about? Does a serious investor close deals or invest in something through that platform or is it just one of the platforms that has become a haven for scammers and various political agendas that the new leader of that platform seems to support?

As for the account that spreads fake news and leads people astray, it should have been removed a long time ago, but that doesn't seem too important to anyone. People who believe everything they see and read or hear are a much bigger problem - especially those who think that Bitcoin has its own Twitter account and its own bank Roll Eyes

I have never seen any official bitcoin accounts on any platform. Look at that twitter account created in 2011 but it's also not recognized as official by TW, so it's just a normal user's account and it doesn't represent bitcoin. Bitcoin is open source and not controlled by anyone, be careful what you are following on social media, it can lead you to some scams.

It's very hard to find any readable, informative posts in Twitter anyway.

What is the reason of being bearish
The reason for being bearish (or pretending to be) on the internet, specially when they are spreading FUD, is that whenever we have a drop like what we had recently a lot of people start shorting bitcoin. Most of them short bitcoin when the drop ended. So in order to make any profit and not lose money they have to see bitcoin price drop more. But as we can see the drop stopped just as fast as it started so now these people are caught with their pants down...

What is the reason of being bearish as the official Bitcoin account ? Who is trolling and has access to this account ?

https://twitter.com/Bitcoin/status/1591513857721524224

So I guess you are really new as this account have been changing hands. And with that:

1. There are no official Bitcoin twitter account. Doesn't matter who has accessed to the account
2. It has been trolling ever since, from becoming a Bitcoin Cash proponent
3. Obviously, someone is trolling behind that account for many years now, not to be trusted

Here's what I've found.
https://news.bitcoin.com/who-controls-the-bitcoin-twitter-account/

It seems it accused that the account belongs to a high-profile Bitcoiner last 2018 and it could belong and be under the control of Bitcoin.com.

I doubted that it belongs to the Bitcoin cash team and stuff, what do you think?
But Roger Ver denied that the account belongs to him, https://twitter.com/rogerkver/status/983379544387153920

It's not main Bitcoin account, it just has the @Bitcoin username, that's all. We know that it changed hands a couple of times and current owner is unknown AFAIK. It used to support Bitcoin Cash instead of real Bitcoin. It offers paid adverts as well. I wouldn't care much about what they write honestly. If you want to follow important Bitcoin news this forum is enough. It's very hard to find any readable, informative posts in Twitter anyway.
experienced people probably won't be swayed by the ravings of unofficial Twitter accounts. but for those who are new to the crypto market. and those who trade small on the exchange. Of course, it can affect the psychology of new traders.
It doesn't matter if the Twitter account is official or not. sometimes people who are new to the crypto market just follow social media accounts that share posts related to crypto. it's ignorance, but that's what's happening right now.

Moreover, this account has 5.6 million followers which will indirectly make it easy for anyone to believe and make news from the Twitter account always valid information. it will indeed affect the psychology of new traders or investors. there are many more accounts like this that are related to crypto and accounts with quite a lot of followers are sometimes used to spread FUD or manipulate news that is not valid. Even an account with a check mark that is an official account can't necessarily be trusted. So it's better to always check again regarding the news being spread, don't just look at it from one media, but compare it from all media so that the news can be more valid.

https://twitter.com/Bitcoin/status/1591513857721524224

Nobody knows who is the actual owner of the @Bitcoin account as of today.

But according to Roger Ver,

https://twitter.com/rogerkver/status/983379544387153920

and then that account get suspended,

https://twitter.com/SatoshiLite/status/982879415532011520

And so the history of that account has been pass on to different personalities, could be BCH and BSV proponent or any others that goes against Bitcoin. Heck it even had paid advertisement in the past.

So what I'm saying is that don't take the account seriously.

Is there even such a thing as an official Bitcoin twitter account? I don't know who is behind that account, but as hatshepsut93 said, Bitcoin is an open source project that belongs to everyone and no one owns the Bitcoin.

There isn't even an official Bitcoin website:

Bitcoin.org is not Bitcoin's official website. Just like nobody owns the email technology, nobody owns the Bitcoin network. As such, nobody can speak with authority in the name of Bitcoin.

Nothing is officially related to Bitcoin at all which is a Decentralized cryptocurrency. Even the website is just for information, not official. So we don't know even who controls the Twitter account which isn't related to Bitcoin. So doesn't matter what they post. It wouldn't hurt Bitcoin at all whatever they post. They can't create a bear or they can't prevent a bear.

Taking the report of an unverified account on Twitter seriously and attributing its source to be official is a way to get scammed easily. Even if the source was verified, it should still be read with a high degree of skepticism.

Furthermore, the bear is a part of the market cycle as much as the bull is. If an account only makes bullish prediction and posts, they have little substance to offer.

There is no can be no official Bitcoin account. Bitcoin is not a company or a centralized project with one owners. Bitcoin developers do not own Bitcoin and can't speak on its behalf.

We do not know who owns that account. And it doesn't matter, because their opinion is as valid and influential as an opinion of some random commenter on the Internet.
