i couldn't get the time scale to show, does anyone mind summarizing the peak usage times?

From the top post in the conversation in Reddit:

"It's interesting that the peak usage time in most of the world is during the dusk hours, but in North America the peak usage looks to be more around noon - 3 PM."

That's followed by a discussion of American internet habits.

Speaking of the effect of time zones on trading, here is a gif showing the effect of time zones on internet usage.  I think the bitcoin trading probably sees a similar effect.

P.S. - If you are like me, you might have a hard time seeing the night and day shifting across the GIF.  It's easier to see in the reddit post I sourced this from.  I think that's because it's smaller, maybe.

Cool gif, apparently americans don't surf the internet as much in the late evening as europeans and asians do?

I'm telling you global market opens correlate with volume... after breaking 50 and with renewal of eurozone crisis momentum for that volume is clearly up and should also benefit from some spill over affects from new euro transfer after monday's banking holiday...

In such an inefficient and illiquid market it should be obvious that prices are influenced by time zones... its about to be morning in Europe and with the delay in wire transfers, the rally started yesterday should be extended with fresh funds. Remember also that accounts in Cyprus are still frozen.. when people can get to their money where do you think they will put it? Even a small % would have a huge impact on btc market (1 million of 10s of billions)... bears have lost perspective of market catalysts and are dumb to be selling. At very least hold and put in a stop at 55 or something... it's never a wise investment strategy to chase dimes in front of bulldozers.
