i really dont see why everyone is suffering and shutting down, i only have 13 cards and iam doing just fine with my take.....

What cards and mining what? Show us your calculation. My best guess you are making $1 net per day. Good for you.

5 7950's, 5 280x's all heavily overclocked, 1 750ti 1 780m and 1 gt 540 and one 200ghs sha miner that has payed for itself many times since i purchased it.

iam not going to tell what coin iam mineing as i dont want everyone whoreing on it. and power is most def not an issue, considering my last bill was only 468 AUD.

on average with fluctuations i mine between 0.019-0.032 btc a day.
and my sha miner did
an average of 0.34 btc over a 4 day period when i had it on last.

just have to know what to mine and when to trade it and what to trade it for lol. btc is just the middle coin as there is always something better to invest in. Smiley

I imagine you are not paying electrical costs, or if you are, you have some abnormally low <.05kwh rate that 95% of miners can't get.

So, I've been gone for quite a while. Last I checked VertCoin and Scrypt-N were the new thing. I come back and I see 6 or 7 different algorithms?

What did I miss? How do these algos work? Is there one that is strictly for GPUs not that Scrypt itself has ASICs?

Is there any algo/coin that is "profitable" given existing GPU hardware? Or is it all cloud/ASIC?

Sadly for most GPU days are over.  Cost of electricity and heat removal just makes it impossible to compete against Asic.   They have shifted to x... or n , etc.  This is to be asic resistant.   But for most people even with those algos there is not enough profit and you are better off selling cards and buying BTC or getting a asic.

I am still keeping my gpu for now, almost impossible to sell right now...

why bring all these algo when ultimately they are going to use electricity  ...we should have proof of electricity..no hardware to buy..just connect heater and wifi router ..good to go... Huh

I would not focus on GPU mining anymore, regardless of what algo you might select, this simply is not profitable anymore. Cloud mining is the only way to go right now IMO, unless you can get top shelf ASIC without relying on preorders.
There is even HDD mining introduced recently, don't know how profitable that is ATM.
Haha holy shit HDD mining?? Link?

And why is it not profitable? Will it not even make back electrical costs?
