Final results:

The exit polls were predicting 11.5% to 11.8% vote for AfD, but they did much better. According to the final count, they got 14.2% of the vote. Merkel's party (CDU) suffered a sharp drop in support, and performed even worse than expected. Still, the CDU narrowly kept the 2nd position, after finishing marginally ahead of the Greens and the (ex-communist) Left Party.

The AfD is unlikely to cross the 20% mark, as they were able to achieve in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Sachsen-Anhalt. But even a 13% or 14% share of the votes will be historic, as the party is stronger in rural areas compared to the more metropolitan regions.

And Berlin elections can be a final nail in the coffin for die führerin Angela Merkel.
