Hi guys,

I am looking into getting a 3D printer but before i make the jump i want to get a few designs built to see if i can get the hand of it.

any recommendations for software packages that i should use? I have looked at blender and that seems to tick all my boxes apart from having some simple tutorials and also looked at 3D slash but that seems too simple for what I'm planning to build in 3D as it only works on the minecraft principles of cubes.

I'm basically looking to design and build some custom scenery models and bases for my warhammer figures at the moment.

TIA
