We can find the best wallets on your list, thank you for sharing this list with us. But if we want to altcoin wallets, we try finding best of them. What l mean about the best, that means there are manifold altcoin wallets. Sometimes it is so good to have a lot of choices of altcoin wallets, not all of them but some of them have great potential. It depends on your needs if we are talking about the best wallet for mobile. We should use wallets that are stored by a third party ( usually on a remote server). It is pretty good the information to be accessed from anywhere, no matter what computing device you're using. Another advantage of third-party wallets is evident, l mean when updates are made to the wallet software. For you, the investor, it happens invisibly: There are no emails, text messages telling you an update needs to be downloaded. The exchange for maintaining your wallet will apply any changes which need to be made to all the wallets currently under their care. You may get a message that gives the details of the update, but that's it: no further action on your part will be necessary. Additionally, you don't have to set aside any hard drive storage space on your PC or smartphone, since all your wallet info is stored on remote servers.

for me the best altcoin wallets like Trustwallet, MEW, and Blokchain. until now I always trust them and there have never been any problems during my use. I do not believe in other new wallets, because new wallets have a higher risk and hacking often occurs.

My experience is very low in using several and several wallet. Though I'm using few wallet so this wallet is for good. For altcoins I'm using only Myetherwallet and for top coin Coinbase, trust wallet and blockchain. Had interest to use atomic wallet for first time but when I saw this wallet had scam app in playstore so I lost interest because had doubt to legit one.

The best wallet is the wallet which will ensure the safety of your resources, this is the most important feature of the wallet.
If you hold various type of altcoins I recommend you Ledger hardware wallets, if you own only Bitcoin plus some high cap altcoins - go o Trezor (they have only limited support for altcoins).  Wink

You should have private key from each altcoin, if you do not own private key, you don´t own cryptocurrencies and you are using some type of cloud-service wallets - I wouldn´t trust them for long-term storage of cryptocurrencies.
having a private key for each altcoin is mandatory because the main access and what must be stored is that data. the goal is to maintain security, even though each wallet has security that already has a standard but we also play a role in maintaining the security of our personal wallet and on the other side the development also can not do much on lost data because access is held fully by the wallet owner

Recently i am using trust wallet and i think it is one of the best wallets available right now and it is strange to see that you have not named it in your list. It has all the positives one is looking for plus multiple blockchain support plus tokens support plus trading and swapping option and also the power of using dApps from within the wallet. All these outstanding features make it stand out from rest.

You have named various Alts Coin Wallets with descriptions. Thank you very much for this. This will benefit investors in Alts Coin. From here they can easily choose the wallet of their choice. But I think Myther Wallet (MEW) is safer and easier to use.
because Myetherwallet is a special wallet from the Ethereum Platform, I think it's natural that MEW is a favorite,
but remember that Altcoin has its own blockchain and own wallet, you cant use MEW
Mew wallet is the best for now to use because most of us in here are using MEW, Even me MEW is the only one that I using for saving some of my altcoins that I have. But we need to careful sometimes using MEW because there are some fake site can easily link to your account in MEW. And must better to use also some hard wallet if we have to.

Guys stay away from online wallet, lost few dollars to cryptonator, it's better to use Atomic wallet, trust wallet or coinomi wallet, the most stable one from my list is trust wallet, the right choice for newbies who aren't that familiar with operating crypto wallets
There are many of my friends that now are using atomic wallet because of safer and legit holding not like the famous MEW(MyEtherWallet) in which many cryptonians are leaving the support and the weakest of all is the ERC20 wallet.

There are lots of good wallets now reason i can't say which wallet is best, there is atomic wallet, there is imtoken, the upgraded version, there is myetherwallet, and so on, but for me,I'm so cool with trust wallet,it is so much compatible with so many altcoin, but it's not about a wallet being best but how safe do you keep your private keys?
Trust wallet is also one of my option now,for a long time user of MEW it is hard to trust others now but i will research more so i can transfer my funds though i have holdings in my local wallet.

Thanks for the information. I think all of your reviews about the altcoin wallet that can be used are the best. One of them is MyEtherWallet which is the most widely used altcoin wallet to date. the most important thing in keeping our money safe is to maintain the private key as well as possible, because no matter how good the wallet that we use if we do not protect the private key, then all our assets will be lost or burglarized by hackers

I have atomic wallet for more than I year, I participated in their bounty here, got some of their tokens too. Great wallet, I love it! Easy to use, you can exchange some coins there in the wallet, without need to make transactions. The atomic wallet has a good team, marketing is great, they have a new update every month, which means they work on the wallet to be better for users! Who didn't try should try atomic wallet.

I have not heard of this cryptonator wallet and I do agree that never trust online wallets with your whole funds. You can use them as much as you want but be sure enough to trust the best wallets if we're talking about big money or your entire crypto savings.
The best wallets would always be the hardware wallets and I'm very confident using it for years now. Before, I don't want to spend it but after learning the several wallet hacks, it's the best choice to have.

Hardware wallets are dedicated devices that are designed to provide an additional layer of protection for rigid methods such as paper wallets. For example, using a paper wallet, your funds are safe until you use the computer, because if your PC is infected, it is possible that your account will be hacked.

In contrast, hardware wallets have a security chip in them, which when connected to a computer is designed to provide the ability to transfer funds without having to directly enter a private key. Put simply, you put a pin on some hardware, which means safer sending cryptocurrencies on a questionable PC. If the wallet is lost or damaged, it is possible to recover our currency on new equipment - thanks to having a private key. To do this, you must enter the so-called "seed word" (a string of random words used to recover your wallet and cryptocurrencies) that you get when you set up your wallet.

While hardware wallets are the safest way to store cryptocurrencies, ultimately their price and the amount of cryptocurrencies you keep will decide if such equipment is worth buying to you. To start using such a wallet, you first need a wallet in the form of a program that will interact with the equipment you purchased. Most hardware wallets have their own software, there are also programs such as MyEtherWallet that can be used with any of your hardware wallets.

You no need to donwload the complete blockchain to install the desktop wallet for an altcoin, it depends on the wallet you are going to install and now there are multi crypto wallet available for desktop as well which is light version and allows you to interfere with your blockchain without downloading it.

I would recommend to the hardware wallet, because if you use an online wallet it might be hacked, my friend uses trustwallet and im the balance token is lost (not all users) maybe the data has been stolen

You have done a very good list for good altcoins wallet that are popular now. I believe myetherwallet is the best wallet for altcoins hold that is built on ERC20. It is very popular wallet now. I also like atomicwallet for holding and exchange altcoins. Both of them are good, other wallet like trust wallet is also a good wallet.

The list of altcoin wallets is awesome but Imtoken and Atomic wallets are missing. Personally, I've been using trust wallet, imtoken and atomic wallets for some time and all have their uniqueness. My best altcoin wallet might not be your best, it's a matter of choice. I noticed trust wallet gives faster transactions with lower fees, and the DAPPS section is just so amazing, so I stick to it since i can store most of my coins there.

Everyone have a particular wallet he believes is the best based on usage, security, ease of access and so on, a wallet I see as the best wallet might be different from the one you see as the best, thus everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Nevertheless, this is a nice and long list with enough information to help even a newbie make the right decisions. In my own case, I prefer Trust wallet owing to its features and multi-cryptocurrency nature.

I generally prefer using Multi cryptocurrency wallets. I prefer hot wallets for trading purpose and cold wallets for HODLing. In my opinion the best altcoin wallets are those which gives access to the Private key and you are also able to create a back up.

I did do some research on Google by using the key word Best Cryptocurrency Wallets, Best Ethereum wallets, Best ERC20 wallets and found websites mostly recommending Ledger wallets, Atomic Wallet, Exodus wallet, Garuda Wallet.
.
All of them are Multi cryptocurrency wallets and are available for both desktop and mobile devices, except Ledger which is a hardware wallet.

I think everyone should choose a Multi cryptocurrency wallet for storing altcoins.

P.S - You check the links to find the best ether and ERC20 wallets

If you don't have any idea in so many types of wallet I think MyEtherWallet is already pretty solid as an altcoin wallet for starters especially in the past years.

But these days I guess we already have a lot of new altcoins wallet that is better or have great potential.

Not really, the OP is talking about altcoin wallet not ethereum wallet only since MEW can only be used in eth and eth assets it cannot be suggest into other altcoins like xlm,eos you can suggest universal altcoin wallet like coinomi or trust wallet.

You can define the meaning of 'best' from best wallet depends on your needs.
If you need the best secure wallet, you should using wallet that you can install on your pc like desktop wallet.
On the other hand, if you need the best mobile wallet, you should using 3rd party wallet and install it on your phone like coinomi.
All on the list are the common wallets that are used to stored altcoins that are relatively safe. But for some others information, there are bunches of wallet that fwn support multi wallet but we are not sure of their safety if they can be trusted.

Its bit rare to see some wallet that support a non erc20 token of ethereum network so I am looking for a wallet aside from coinomi that also have their similar feature on holding different blockchain wallets but can be trusted anyone know? I know its better to have installed indibidual wallet but, I hope there are some legit one that can be store many coins and tokens. Of course the one we can get own private keys for each.

Btw it’s really a informative post done by Op. Maybe some people will be helped by this. For those who are looking for multicoin wallets then I will suggest to Trust, Atomic, Coinomi, OWNR wallets are better choice if they want to store their crypto in one place.

There are so many altcoin wallet with multicoin, You can review about Atomic wallet, Meet. one, Coinomi, etc. But I often use Trustwallet now because it is acquired by the most trusted exchange binance. I have use coinomi before last 2017 and it has also supported so many coins I guess it is older than trustwallet. Also Meet one is a decent wallet with built-in exchange called mex and you can trade with different exchanges combined in just one app and they have supported some dapps too.

I have never heard some of the wallets here.

There are many people asking here in this forum on which is the best wallet to use to hold and keep their altcoins, there are many best altcoin wallets we can use to make ourselves assured that our money is in the right place.
"Best" is subjective. For tech savvy users who knows their shit about security, most wallets listed in the article would probably not pass as one of the best. Many newbies might not be the most well-informed users but I think it's better that we lead them to more secure and more reputable wallets that are easy to use.

5. Keepkey- it is one of the leading hardware wallets for cryptocurrency with support for more than 40 digital currencies. It is affordably priced, easy to use, and has a decent design.
I don't use this wallet but IIRC, Shapeshift, who acquired Keepkey and integrated the exchange into the wallet, implemented KYC through their "Shapeshift Membership" some time in 2018. You can still use the wallet merely to send and receive though but there's no telling if they will require all wallet users to pass some verification in the future.

7. Exodus Multi Currency - it is an elegant and complete ‘Blockchain Asset Wallet’ that makes it easy to store, manage and exchange several cryptocurrencies from a single wallet.

8. Jaxx Multi Currency - it is a popular multi-currency hot wallet developed by Decentral, a well-established name in the industry and a crypto innovation hub known for its electronic exchangers.
Both are closed source which puts a "dent" on their reputation as secure wallet.

12. MyCrypto - is not a web wallet and cannot recover your private key or password, access your account, move funds, recover funds, nor cancel/reverse transactions.
This description looks so negative but it's true. The OP copied it straight from MyCrypto's website:

MyCrypto cannot recover your key

MyCrypto is not a web wallet and cannot recover your private key or password, access your account, move funds, recover funds, nor cancel/reverse transactions.

They don't call themselves as "web wallet" since they require users to download a desktop app if they want to create a wallet using MyCrypto. All data generated are stored on the users' end and none on MyCrypto's servers. If users don't want to generate their own wallet, they can still access their other wallets using this platform.

Desktop altcoin wallets - Desktop wallets are one of the best wallet out there. but it is not that easy to access this kind of wallet because you have to the entirety of the coin’s blockchain on your computer before you can transact using a desktop wallet.
It's not correct all the times, with Light Wallet, you can easily use every features of the coin without downloading the chain history.

Quote
1.What alt coins are supported by these wallets?
- All altcoin wallets are multicoin wallets. The only difference is the number of coins each wallet supports.
It's misleading. Respective altcoin wallets will inly support the respective coins. For example, a wallet built for Litecoin will only support Litecoin. Multicoin wallets are different and should be categorized in different.

Hardware altcoin wallets
- it is an opposite of software wallet because the private keys are embedded into a hardware device designed to function as a wallet, it can be also called as an offline wallet because we don't need to use internet connection just to access it. There are several hardware wallet providers in the crypto space, and you might need to do extensive research to pick the best hardware wallet for altcoins.

It is true that you can use hardware wallet as offline wallet, sign your transaction on airgapped device and broadcast on online device, but it's still a bit exaggerated considering that HW is designed to be resilient even in an infected computer environment. Some call these wallets hot wallets, others cold wallets, but in one discussion it was mentioned that there should be some special name for this type of crypto wallets.

When looking from the perspective of the number of supported coins, Ledger and Trezor support 1000+ of them. And as for the links that lead to these wallets, we have rules on this forum about referral links - they are not allowed in post area, use edit button to remove them.

Hello XenoFever, that's a great list. But if we are talking about altcoins wallet, i think one of the best options is Atomic wallet, and that's because it allow is to buy other altcoin with the same wallet and without asking for ID's. It is awesome to have a wallet who allows us to change our ETH for BCH without taking out the money from the wallet to an exchange.

But again, great list, thanks for share it Grin

There are many people asking here in this forum on which is the best wallet to use to hold and keep their altcoins, there are many best altcoin wallets we can use to make ourselves assured that our money is in the right place.

First let us all discuss what altcoin is, at the beginning of the crypto world, bitcoin is the very first successful currency that has been made by Satoshi but as time goes by different cryptocurrency has also been created and all of those coins that is not under bitcoin is called altcoins.

Software altcoin wallets
- It is simply a broad name for application-based altcoin wallets, it can be separated on three categories,  (web) wallets, desktop wallets, and mobile wallets.

Online (web) wallets - it is a cloud-based applications that users can access via their computers, all you need do is register on the application, get your private key, and start facilitating transactions, there are many people who are using this kind of wallet because it is really easy to use, but for me it is not advisable to use because it is prone to attacks compared to other wallets because it is an online wallets that store users’ private keys.

Desktop altcoin wallets - Desktop wallets are one of the best wallet out there. but it is not that easy to access this kind of wallet because you have to the entirety of the coin’s blockchain on your computer before you can transact using a desktop wallet. you have to do that first before you get started, but most of the people who are holding a huge amount of money are using that kind of wallet, they spend so much money and time just to have access on that kind of wallet in their computer just to make their money safe.

Mobile altcoin wallets - As technology evolves, using of mobile phones becomes more prominent and that is why they had created a mobile altcoin wallets which is more convenient to use compared to your computer. it is a mobile app that allows users to store their private keys and access it on the go. With mobile wallets that support multiple coins, you can put all your crypto holdings into one wallet and access them at any given time, but the downside of using it is when your mobile phone has been stolen, you won't have access on it anymore and the one who hooked up your mobile phone will be the one who will gain access on it.

Paper altcoin wallet - it is less technical compared to other hardware wallets, because the only thing you need to do is to generate your public address and private key and print it out or write it on paper but once you have lose your paper and its content, your money will also lose as well unless you have copies of that paper.

Important FAQs
1.What alt coins are supported by these wallets?
- All altcoin wallets are multicoin wallets. The only difference is the number of coins each wallet supports.
2.How safe are altcoin wallets?
- Asking this kind of information is really important because one thing that we need to consider before trying the the wallet is it safeness and its security, it is really safe because you can use biometrics in this kind of wallet.
3.How is with altcoin wallet accessibility?
- accessibility means how this wallet can easy to use, based on some definition above some of the wallet has its own difficulties of using.
4.Do you need to update altcoin wallets?
- Yes, as technology evolves, device should be upgraded as well to avoid attacks from other.
5.What are the additional features of altcoin wallets?
- this wallets are exploring something just to suit the needs and wants of their users, some wallets have adopted features that go beyond securing crypto.

These are the 12 altcoin wallets for you.
1. MyEtherWallet - MyEtherWallet [MEW] is a free and open source platform, compatible with ETH and its tokens, which allows you to interact directly with the Ethereum blockchain, create wallets, send and receive ETH and its tokens or interact with smart contracts (smart contracts) among other options.

2. Trezor - it is an easy to use browser, using this Wallet, you can easily set up the device, manage your cryptocurrency assets, initiate transfers to other services or friends, and more. It is also possible to use your Trezor device with other wallets.
