I have a friend in Montreal without a wallet (real wallet, was stolen) who needs funds.
I offered to send her some bitcoins, but don't know which Android wallet would be best
to use. Best in this case = easy to use, low barrier of entry. Ideally I'd like to avoid
24-word passphrases, security backups and 2fa.
Any suggestions?
First try to stay away off Blockchain.info APplication , I personally advice you to use Mycelium and I used it before on my Tablet and it's working fine and never had any problems with it , and you can even buy/sell BTC if I remember right (It see your location and tell you the location of other people near you who sell/buy BTC basically like Localbitcoins do) https://mycelium.com/
Also check out Coinomi, it has BIP44 support for easy wallet backup and has an integrated ShapeShift exchange.
Stay away from the blockchain.info app. It has a lot of bugs, recently a serious security issue was discovered in it that affected some phones.
