Other best altcoins are Zcash and DAI, they have the best privacy and anonymity apart from Monero as they are also among the top 50 best coins.
Indeed transactions on monero are near impossible to be traced because the details about sender's address and receiver's address are hidden I read somewhere although haven't made many transactions myself in monero and the amount transacted is also hidden so is a good choice, not sure how it being compromised now.

I actually think we can use any coin and remain anonymous if only we can take some extra cautious steps like using a new BTC address every time and use a mixer if you want even more security but remember they mix your coins for a fees and if it is worth then go for it, I also have a cheaper method as you can deposit into any exchange like Binance and then withdraw Cheesy the fees is lower as compared to mixers.

It's still Monero. What's next to it I guess is Grin. As you know, it's the first altcoin that's being accepted by the forum if you're going to pay for a Copper Membership.

Monero is the best for anonymity in thousands of altcoins. The 2 submitted 2 patents from Cypher Trace were discussed with my own opinion  there. If they truly did and finished something great to trace transactions and break the anonymity of Monero transactions, I don't understand how it took them so long time to submit patents for their discoveries? Many people in Monero community thought it is a FUD on the coin and I believe in this theory as well.

Grincoin does not bring anonymous to people who use it for transactions as how it was built up to be.
Base mimblewimble isn't really designed to be a "black box of reliable anonymity" in the way that Monero or Wasabi-CoinJoins are, where connections are hard-broken. It's more of a framework on which you could build solid anonymity using techniques that have largely not yet been perfected, plus major scaling benefits. Monero = CT + stealth addresses + ring signatures. Grin = CT + "stealth addresses" + mimblewimble. Because grin replaces ring signatures with mimblewimble, its privacy is less reliable than Monero's. Probably the grin developers have tried to make their mimblewimble transaction aggregation methods good, but I currently wouldn't put much faith in it, and IMO it'll take many years of research to get something really solid. That said, CT + stealth addresses offer a certain base level of privacy, and grin's method of handling stealth addresses (using an interactive protocol, exchanging "slates") is both more scalable than Monero and probably more private.

If your goal is to mix coins, grin is definitely not for you right now, and it may never be. Monero's goal is maximal privacy, regardless of the cost. Grin's goal is excellent privacy, consistent with scaling.
Thank you for these details that you have shared for both coins I believe as the best in privacy.

Thanks guys for the reply. How about Verge ? Don't you think it's better the Monero ?
Also regarding Monero's security being compromised, do you think it'll affect its price ?
Thanks
IMO, Monero is still better than verge.
Price affection, it could be somehow but it wouldn't changed a lot if your concern is the price because it has already established itself in the market.

Hi everyone,
Following Monero traceability being compromised etc., as of today what would be the most secure and untraceable cryptocurrency for you and why ?
Thanks !
There will never be one coin which will be 100% secured and untracable.
At the moment monero still is one of the best options in terms of security and ease of use.
Moreover, if you're not careful enough - another decentralized untracable coin won't help

the Best anonymous coin? of course my first choice is Monero, I always hear news about Monero that the anonymous coins that are always used by the government and even crimes like terrorists all use monero, whether this is a positive thing or not,
but if Monero is very popular it means everything is on a positive signal.

Today, the most complete anonymous cryptocurrency is Monero, which has an excellent background, history, technology and development plans. It is worth adding to this - wide support, a lot of wallets, fast network, convenient use. XMR token is stable, with good performance on markets / exchanges.

PS One question - do you really need anonymity? Living in a world in which for 50 years everyone has been using cretied cards, and all information about you has been collected for decades, have you suddenly decided to hide? Smiley

Privacy coins like Verge, Dash, horizon, Zcash etc all have same thing in common, sending transactions anonymously, while Monero transactions are more difficult to trace because it's programmed to use ring signatures and stealth address Ciphertrace claimed it's been broken, hard to believe though but there is also Monero mixer, mixer can make things more complicated for any trackers so for me the best privacy coin is Monero

I like privacy coins like Monero but the truth is I don't see any reason why I would want to hide my transactions, I think I won't be needing privacy coins for any reasons sake, anonymous or not it doesn't matter to me, I have no reasons to hide, using privacy coins for their real use cases isn't for people like myself

Maybe many people will not understand me, but I will ask. If you are not going to do anything illegal, then why do you NEED complete anonymity in using cryptocurrencies? You understand that with the proper desire and diligence, you can declassify anything, if there were funds for it? If you want to hide from the state in this way, then I have bad news for you - the moment is not far off when your "enemy" will successfully begin to reveal anything, no matter how well you hide.
If you need complete, 100% anonymity-go into the woods and live without communication at all, the benefit of even in America, not to mention other large countries such as Russia or China, there are places where no one lives and does not gather. What is your problem?

One of those anonymous currencies is even Bitcoin itself. But there are others that have extras such as Monero or Zcash.

You have to verify each of its advantages and disadvantages of each.

For example, monero recently had security flaws, and in the future you will find others with the same security flaws.

But the safest currency today that cannot be manipulated is Bitcoin.

I share an article about all the most anonymous cryptocurrencies: https://bitsofproof.com/es/criptomonedas/anonimas

You really believe that Monero is been compromised? I doubt that because if it's true we won't hear a thing about it, saying it out loud to the public might make Monero team fix things up but instead everything is silent from XMR team side, I bet they knew that the news is a complete FUD

I don't think Monero is over yet. As I've heard, it's only a fluke that there's a spreading false news about Monero being compromised, don't believe it though. Other than that, Monero is still number one for everyone. I don't recommend any other privacy coins besides monero now.

The technology that developed by zcash is outdated tech. It can't even compete with monero in term of anon tech. zkstark is not even implemented and it's not worth to buy zcash.

How can you sure if DAI has the best privacy and anonymity? it's not even as good as monero.
zcash can be an alternative solution but I'm not sure about DAI to have a chance for this.

Using shielded Zcash transactions where you only transfer between z-addresses should be more private than using Monero. The problem is that not too many people use z-addresses and this weakens the privacy for the ones that do.

There is no coin with perfect privacy and right now Monero is considered to be the one that comes closest to achieving this goal.

Verge was a crap coin and its chain has been getting hacked so many times. I guess you should never use verge as an alternative crypto for monero. As far as i know komodo should be also on your rader as an alternative solution for the monero coin. It will not affect the price of monero.
We don't know how exactly it will be compromised.

I just want to ask, are there any people buy an anonymous coin because of their target of anonymous?? Are people really buy it only for this feature?
For me, i don't really care about anonymous or not, I will buy any coin that can give me profits, no matter if it's bitcoin or any other altcoins. I also buy anonymous coin like Dash, Monero, etc but not because of the feature but for profits

For OP maybe this can help https://www.investopedia.com/tech/five-most-private-cryptocurrencies/

Where exactly did you read that Monero's security has been compromised? Are you talking about the news that the IRS is looking to break Monero's privacy features?

Monero can be traced if people don't use the privacy features accordingly. You could use one of CIA's computers with the best security possible - if you leak personal information or fingerprints, that's the end of your anonymity.

There is no coin around that compares to Monero so far in terms of decentralization, security, privacy features and so on. Most other coins that want to conquer the privacy-crypto sphere have optional anonymity unlike Monero's on-and-permanent-by-default. Moreover, Monero is less prone to network attacks than smaller coins. The best thing these guys who accepted the IRS challenge can do is just try setting up something malicious such as nodes/miners in order to link up txs made by users who think Monero makes you private and anonymous no matter how you use it. If you use the anonymous features the way they're meant to be used, you'll still remain most likely anonymous and safe.

Other coins I've looked into are BEAM and Firo (Zcoin). I would still trust Monero more than those without a doubt. If you wonder why, the answer is simple: why did IRS not need to break Zcoin's privacy features as well?

DeepOnion claims to be anonymous although I don't know how much they are and not tested by tools like Chainanalysis or any other. DeepOnion use DeepSend to mix the tx in the native wallet. You can check out- deeponion.org
