Let’s say you wanted to put a Bitcoin ATM in your house as a display piece (but still functional).
I still have no idea to own Bitcoin ATM at home since it is not really needed for now. If I want to transfer my Bitcoin or trade my Bitcoin, I can do it in many exchanges. Having Bitcoin ATM probably also needs permission from the government, I doubt it is illegal in my country. Except it is only a miniature of Bitcoin ATM (replica), which means non-functional, it may have no problem to display at home.

What a coincidence, two home ATM discussions I found in a few minutes Smiley

If you are willing to spend a bit more money for a nice exterior which you can probably pay a metalworker to weld and then do your own custom paint, I would go for something like this one from icopress: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcoin-lightningatm-2217501

It's a very cool Bitcoin lightning ATM so even people could experiment with a few cents to get satoshi. Cool, right?
Man, from your words, some may get the impression that this is my idea, although this is not so, which, in fact, I mentioned in my thread. By and large, the links posted by Dave are enough to understand what's what, but GitHub lacks a few video instructions (it seems). In addition, in the future, OgNasty is unlikely to be able to transform this minibox into a business (the context can be traced in his words), so he should better think about purchasing a full-fledged ATM.

Isn't that going to depend on the decor of your house too?

Also it depends on what you mean by not relying on a company to remain functional?

Picking on GeneralBytes you need their back end software to make the ATM work. But you can run the software on your own hardware so you don't need them.
But if they go away, so do your updates. So at some point things might stop working. But, even if what you are running is 100% free and open source if people stop developing for it then it stops working too.

What do you think is a low purchase price? Once again, people will feel differently. I don't watch a lot of TV, so *I* think spending $400+ in todays world on a TV is insane. That light bar for my motorcycle? $450+tax it's not that much money why? :-)

I would probably go with Lamassu Industries Bitcoin ATM, they have open source software that is big advantage, and you can probably find used and new devices both in Europe and North America.
There are no monthly fees, but you can pay for optional technical support subscription if you want:

Let’s say you wanted to put a Bitcoin ATM in your house as a display piece (but still functional). That would mean likely a low volume machine that you’d want to look nice and also be made by a company that is going to stick around, or better yet isn’t reliant on any one company to remain functional. A low purchase price and no monthly fees would also be nice.

What Bitcoin ATM would you recommend buying?
