Just a little update: i am still looking for bitcoinchecker for iOS. Guess it was meant for Android. Hive and blockchain.info are really good apps. Also ZeroBlocks for news.

How about Bitcoin ticker widget? This is the best application for Android. I am pretty sure it works well for ios as well. I have never tried it but I see there is one available for download in apple store.

Edit: Application is developed by XBT by the way.

i also use the hive app. it is the best wallet app in my opinion but it is not open source, so be careful and do not store many coins there.

Thanks, but i can found this app only for Android, not for iOS. Do you have an iTunes link?

Bitcoinchecker is a good one. It gives you the prices of the most large exchanges.

Breadwallet, BitSpotty, ZeroBlock and Coinbits are definitely the best apps around! I also like the app from Kraken, bit it is only really useful if you use the service, of course Smiley

I have wallets on my iOS but I rarely use them. They are strictly "hot wallets" That said, my favorited is Hive.
The other Apps I use most often are;
ZeroBlock for news
BtcReport for live prices in my local currency
SaruTobi for fun (it's a game, pays you a few cents worth of satoshi for playing, but it's actually fun)
Other than those 3 I download all the free apps found searching "btc" in the App Store but very few offer anything I need or want that I don't already get from ZeroBlock and btcreports

My best advice is if you use a phone app for storage don't keep much on it.   Treat it as a very hot wallet, and only keep a little bit of spending money.

I don't think he was referring to a wallet only. But, the wallet apps likely don't store the coins on the phone but in the cloud of the company with whom the wallet (and app) exists. If he wanted to store coins on his phone he wouldn't need an app. He could just hide the key, buried somewhere on the phone.

This is a good topic, i look forward to seeing the apps that people suggest. Thanks.

I personally like the blockchain.info app.  But as previously stated, don't keep a lot of coins on your phone(or web wallet in general for that matter).   It's asking for trouble.

They made a amazing app for sure.  They had a lot of money and man power behind it.  But it is a hot wallet on a mobile phone.

So yes do not load it up with a ton of BTC only keep needed spending money on it.  Mobile I think one of the more risky hot wallets (especially if running old OS, rooted/jailbroken)

I personally like having apps where I can see price and different bitcoin address's.  But have no access to them, I can see stats but keep them in cold wallet.
