Even if there's a lot of FUD surrounding on Korea but it's still the best country. I never encounter that so much excitement like those Koreans have when buying cryptocurrencies.

I think Canada and Australia are two best countries to live with bitcoins overall.
You have lesser problems exchanging them and the places are much better than Japan or Africa.

The attitude towards bitcoin in Holland is eloquently evidenced by the fact that the whole city of Arnhem was nicknamed "the city of the Bitcoins" in honor of the eponymous project. Here the highest concentration of companies providing goods and services for bitcoins over a hundred is noted. With the help of bitcoin in Arnhem you can get a haircut, buy a hamburger or a new suit, send a letter, fix household appliances or rent a room in one of five hotels in the city center.

Many countries regulate BTC.
China is bad.
I think Nigeria is the best place to live as a BTC holder because it is fully legal there but there will be no need to pay taxes when you are converting it into FIAT or the other way round. But in terms of security, I wouldn't really recommend living in Nigeria because you can kidnapped at any moment especially when you are a foreigner.

Portugal is an option.
The government won't tax any crypto gains (simply because they can't, it's a legal loophole), nice weather, seaside, cheap by West European standards.

Hi all,

With ever increasing BTC prices, where can BTC holders move to minimize taxes? I'm confused by many of the tax laws that I'm reading about. It seems like clear rules have yet to emerge in many countries. Some countries have a wealth tax, which means that you must sell a certain amount of your BTC every year, which is regrettable. I think one should try to avoid these countries at least. But other than that, it is only the capital gains tax that is relevant?

Edit: Maybe this thread suits better in the Bitcoin Discussion section?
I heard that Singapore is good from the tax system

For the time being it seems you're rather playing "Russian Roulette" when trying to pick what country is to be best one to live in with your BTC.
You never know what happens next: you name the country of your choice, move in there - and they stage a massive clampdown, like that one in South Korea.

PS.
And I haven't yet heard of their having the ministers fired:

For me my first choice of country to live in for bitcoin is japan. And i think if i have a lot of bitcoin , japan will be the perfect place to live , they have no regulations about bitcoin , no taxes to pay. And for some other reasons i also want to live in western countries where bitcoin is accepted as payments. Just like in some part of europe , where bitcoin is one of the source payment.

Many countries regulate BTC.
China is bad.
In my country there is no law about bitcoins whatsoever so it’s the best place to be a bitcoin holder since there is no regulation about it there is no taxes involved when you are buying or selling bitcoins in my country which is the best.

Denmark is one of the countries that seek to eliminate fiatr money, cashless settlement and the digital currency here are widespread. According to the central bank of the country bitcoin is not a currency which means that its use in the country is not regulated by the state and transactions in bitcoins are not subject to taxation.

Cool, I love Denmark. Didnt know that it was this cryptofriendly. But as you say that bitcoin transactions are not subject to taxation, does this mean that if someone was to convert his BTC back to fiat with lets say x10 profit, the government wouldnt take any tax from those profits?

For holders - counties with stable social environment, where the risk of revolution is low, political regime is neither totalitarian nor authoritarian and the level of happiness is high.
For miners - countries with cheap electricity and eternal winter.

I think tax havens such as certain islands in the Caribbean are the best for large Bitcoin holders. Iceland seems to be very friendly with crypto too, so that's an option. If I'm not mistaken, Estonia is also pretty crypto friendly and is attracting lots of blockchain companies.

At this moment Japan is the most bitcoin friendly country in the world. There are many service providers who are actually accepting the bitcoins as a payment mode which could make the life of bitcoiners easy. There are many startups which are mainly focusing on cryptocurrencies in order to provide more services related to bitcoins.

If you are honest with tax, definetly not Austria. Taxes are up to 50% if it exceeds 50.000€ a year (normal income included).

but i quess we all have to pay the enviroment... Undecided

how great is life in austria compared to, let's say, canada. especially in terms of benefits for taxpayers.

I think there are still many countries where a bitcoiner can live well and dont be ripped off by authorities for his gains, examples I heard about are: Holland, Qatar, Dubai, Cypris. But there are a lot more I guess.

Holland? Do you have any sources for that? I would be very interested to move there.

Well, as I said, I just heard that its good in Holland. But I will try to find out, because Im also thinking of moving there for a while. Its a great country where one really can enjoy life. If its as crypto friendly as my friend told me it would be even better. If I will find out something of value I will share it with you in PM.

Indonesia sir, everything is cheap here (things that are not imported).
Foods, services, transportation, gas. I dont know about the tax here actually, but its not a bad option (decrease your living costs).
But what about different culture (if you European)? The question was "live in"...
For european it's not good variant, I think...

Right now Japan is probably the best country for Bitcoin users. Singapore and Switzerland are some of the countries which rank just below Japan in terms of tolerance for Bitcoin users. And perhaps India is the worst country if you deal with Bitcoins. The government is harassing Bitcoin users for quite some time now.

Majority of the countries regulate bitcoin but if you were looking for a country to live using your coins, I think your best choice is here in the Philippines. You just need to convert your coins to peso. We all know that the cost of living here in the Philippines was less compared to other countries. Imagine this, $3 USD can buy you a decent lunch in the Philippines. The peso to dollar exchange was huge compared to other countries and you can buy a lot of thing with just $100 USD. If you are looking to invest coins, you won't have any problem here. The government doesn't care about the things you earned from coins. As long as you won't do anything that is against the law, living in the Philippines can be fun!!

Both Australia and Japan is tax-free and regulated.
While Russia, Ukraine, South Korea, Malaysia is on regulating...
Singapore, Indonesia, China is denied it as legal tenders, but welcomed [Suspicious link removed]panies.

Also can try out Vietnam and Thailand, both was NEUTRAL and cheap paradise if not considering wealthy countries which might imposed high taxes...

It's better to live in a country where there is or will soon be a regulation of the crypt at the state level

But doesn't this regulation at a state level mean paying taxes about which a topic starter said? I guess cryptocurrencies shouldn't be regulated at a state level, otherwise what's the point of decentralization?
