The Killing. It follows the death/murder of a girl. The whole series, or at least the first season(s)... It really takes its time to show all the facets and aspects of the investigations and the family of the girl. It really is a nice show, it's an adaption of a Danish series!

Bates Motel is pretty good in my opinion. I watched the 1st season on Netflix and finished it in 2 days. It may not be as good and suspenseful as Dexter was but it ranks up there. At least to me it does

Hannibal is everything that I had hoped Dexter would be. At the same time, its writing, characterization, cinematography, acting, set design, costuming, etc.  It's also one of the most suspenseful TV shows I've seen

May not be what you are looking for, but The Wire is awesome.

It is multi-layered and a slow burner but when you get into it, it's amazing television.

Never found a similar topic. I am a huge fan of thrillers and everything that has action, some explosions, cars and mysteries. So my suggestions are CSI and Cold Case. Yours?
