Hey guys, im kinda new and searching for a good ethereum buying site and wallet, preferable a desktop one, btw. im German so its €-->Ether

Thx in advance!

For Ethereum wallet I prefer more myetherwallet and for exchange since you are in Germany then your country supports SEPA transfers.

Since kraken supports SEPA too then this is a perfect combination, also coinbase offers Ethereum wallet and € too.

Just use Exodus wallet. https://www.exodus.io/releases/
It allows you to exchange bitcoin, litecoin, doge and whatever else you have in your wallet for ethereum.
Straight swap within this desktop wallet which you were asking for in the first place.
They have everything in one! Wink

This is the best wallet ever. I have been using it for two weeks now. I highly recommend it.

I wouldn't use ANY online wallet for any coin...

I use https://jaxx.io/ for ETH and some altcoins

Err just the other day there was a post that Jaxx can easily be cracked if a hacker/trojan gets access to your hard disk. I'd really suggest to go with the official wallet (Mist).

literally works with any other wallet... electrum for example just has a file in appdata which you can load and have full access to that wallet... same with mist - it just has a file stored in appdata which you should backup when reinstalling (literally says after you install it), also the "official wallet" is instead a full node and every time you want to use it you have to download rest of the blockchain, while it eats shitload of RAM and what not - whenever I ran Mist or Ethereum Wallet I couldn't do shit on my PC unless I closed it, that's why I looked for something lightweight

also if you're dumb enough to download a trojan (hacker ain't gonna get into your PC unless you download RAT) you deserve to lose your shit - use virtual machine for your wallets

I recommend you should use myetherwallet.com. It is a web wallet but its job is to generate your wallet and let you access the private key so that they do not have anything to deal with your privacy and your property. They can not steal your money Wink trust me. If you want to trade (buy/sell) ethereum, I think coinbase is the best place for you to do that

Thx for the tips guys!

Always try the wallets whose private keys are known by only you. This means don't use exchange wallets for ethereum. For this you can try myetherwallet web site or mist. Both are good. I also heard about "parity" but I did not use it before.
So when I trade i just transfer the ether amount i need to trade from myetherwallet.com to the poloniex acc. and keep the part I want to hold in my wallet if I understand right.

If you want to buy and sell your ethereum for bitcoin, you can try poloniex. They are good but sometimes the transaction gets delayed. And for wallet I suggest you should use myetherwallet because it is very easy to use

MyEtherWallet also integrates very nicely with Trezor if you have one.

I like to buy from Coinbase or Kraken usually.
