200£ For a 7950 ? that's too expensive even for it as brand new, I can get a R9 280 at 200€s heck even R9 280X for 230€sh with an Aftermarket coolers example : http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Composants/showdetl.cfm?product_id=4911025%23xtor=SEC-802-GOO-[Composants]-[RSYS:31:4911025]-49598307014#!moid:MO-F76E2M27248721
I found some second hand 7950 at 150-170€ the only problem with them is they are pretty rare

I'm in the same situation as you and I'm considering all my option, I am investing little by little but more and more on mining.

You best deal for now would be a second hand 5850 @ 50€ it should get you around 350Kh/s Smiley Once you have enough money jump the both to something more effecient such as the 79xx or R9 280 or R9 290 (for now the X version is not really worth it, maybe with custom cooled version the difference might be noticeable).
One last as you have one slot and your don't want to invest in new hardware but only if you have beffy PSU try checking for HD 5970 I found one at around 150€ (second hand of course)

depending on your system and what it can support, but buying anything new at that price is a bad choice.

100£ is more than enough for 2x 5850 second handed, wish should get your between 700-800Kh/s and this is the best performance for the money you have you can get, a second option if you have only one slot available or looking for a more future proof build up look for a second hand 7950 (there are some with 5 years warranty if you can get your hand on of those which is pretty hard go fo it) it also way more power efficient than a dual 5850 , You'll probably need around 150£ for that. for mining don't look at anything other than 58XX, 59XX, 79XX, R9 280 R9 290 after those you can consider the HD69xx

Thanks, got only 1 slot  Undecided
will try to get 5850 if i can get it cheap enough otherwise will get 6770 or 5770

7950 is like 200£ so will leave it for later if I have any success in mining.

Hey thanks so much for that link!
what about 6970 /6950  - it says on that link they get 450kh/s  and they cost on ebay only around 80-100pounds?
No problem, bookmark it.  Cheesy
Basically any AMD card is printing money, the higher you invest, the more money you get. If you can get a 6970 cheap, go for it if you can afford it, otherwise used x770 cards if you just want to test the waters, as they have a lot of bang for the buck.

Also check if your mainboard has PCI-E x1 slots where you can put additional cards into using riser cables.

Look for second hand HD 5770 / HD 6770 / HD 7770
Super cheap. Over 200-210 kH/s, easy to overclock.
HD 6770 -looks like only £40 for 200kh/s.
Would This be the best card to go for If Im just starting out and want to test this out but dont want to spend too much at first?  Roll Eyes

Yes it is the best to start. There is a chance that you give up GPU mining because it can be complex to setup properly and it make a damn noise and heat.

For 100 pounds you should get two or three used 5770 which each give 200kH/s.

thanks brewins, had a look and its spot on 100pounds on ebay. Maybe anyone else has some suggestions for something which would do better then 200kh/s even if it's 20% expensive but gets more power I wouldnt mind.

I see a lot of people are running 7970 but it's around £250 on ebay used which is damn too rich for me now.
I have about £100 which I made last week from £10 i invested in some coins and then traded/sold them on,don't really want to spend any other money other then Which I have already made with these coins.
what would be the best GPU I could get for that kind of money or less?

I get now 7kh/s from my laptops cpu which is just pathetic  Undecided
also Im interested in mining only these new Scrypt based alt cryptocurrencies.
