You cannot go wrong with Trezor. It is my favorite pick of all of the hardware wallet and very easy to use and understand. Although I have a friend who swears by ledger and says that it is a much better option, I have not used it before to store coins so I can only tell you about the one i have experience with. If you are a newbie then I suggest you try out Trezor first.

I'm sure it's a waste of time, because everything will go into payment through NFC of our smartphones

Many people like ledger but i have been using trezor wallet for about 1 year. It is really very simple and looks enough safe. I use it to connect to my etherwallet too

Keep private key on a piece of paper, or on a computer that isn't connected to the Internet, and sign the transaction offline

Both Ledger and Trezor support BTC and ETH. The prices are almost the same, so it depends on which design you like better. Personally, I prefer Ledger Nano S because it is easy to use and support most of the altcoins I have. I notice that Ledger seems to be integrated more widely. Idex exchange support Ledger but not Trezor.

I think, really as you said - trezor is the best one, especially if you were using MyEtherWallet. It accepts Trezor and deals with it as a main hardware wallet partner.

What is the best hardware wallet for holding ethereum based on your experience ?

Since the last vulnerability in a hardware wallet the general confidence in them has fallen significantly (also mine, so maybe it's just my feeling).
I think that you should read this thread, it's not long.
At the end there are ideas for air-gapped cold wallet; if you are a little bit technical you can even go for Raspberry Pi.

And here's some more to read. Sorry if this scares you, but if we talk about big bucks you better get well informed.

So finally the day to buy a hardware wallet is today.
But I have no experience and I know nothing about them, trezor and ledger nano s seems to be the best one in the market at the moment.
I have some bitcoin but I hold a large amount of ethereum( I am a believer of it).

What is the best hardware wallet for holding ethereum based on your experience ?

I am not on a budget since I have to protect my holdings
