To be fair there are very little difference between Trezor and the Ledger Nano S. It’s all depends actually on the user. Ledger is a bit cheaper and user friendly. Both will serve your purpose I believe. Good luck.

Personally I’m happy enough using Ledger Nano S along with MEW. Ledger is going to store your private keys and you will be prompted to interact with it physically to sign the transactions when sending crypto even if you connect it to MEW.

Whichever you purchase, do it from an official store. There are a few cases where hardware wallets have been bought through other channels and the user ended up with a tampered hardware wallet. While this is rather unusual, there is no point in risking your crypto by purchasing the wallet in a cheaper reseller.

I've used both Trezor and the Ledger Nano S. Both are fine for the purpose. While Ledger is a bit cheaper, the average bitcoin user won't notice any difference between the two hardware wallets in connection with the main functions of them. The Ledger looks like a simple USB thumb drive, while Trezor looks a hardware wallet (or a garage opener remote controller Smiley ) so you can hide both of them easily.

Trezor has a more friendly UI but the consensus is the nano has better security while supporting more coins. In the end, it's up to personal preference, both devices will give you your money's worth but nano will be cheaper.

So finally the day to buy a hardware wallet is today.
But I have no experience and I know nothing about them, trezor and ledger nano s seems to be the best one in the market at the moment.
I have some bitcoin but I hold a large amount of ethereum( I am a believer of it).

What is the best hardware wallet for holding ethereum based on your experience ?

I'm using the ledger nano s with myetherwallet for my ethereum. Works seamlessly. I recommend you to do the same thing and do not forget to back up your passphrase.

If you are on a budget i recommend buying ledger nano s, since it is cheaper than trezor and i think it supports more cryptocurrency but if you dont mind spending more on a hardware with a better software and more features go for trezor. Anyway both of this hardware wallets are worth it for your money and can do the work securing your ethereum. Just remember that do not buy on any reseller and only buy directly to their official stores.
