My cards are RX580 and I need 7 slots

AsRock H110 PRO BTC+ (s1151, Intel H110) with 12 PCi-e 1x + 1 PCi-e 16x
Asus B250 MINING EXPERT (s1151, Intel B250)  with 18 PPCi-e 1x + 1 PCi-e 16x and 3 ATX 12v
P.S.  Asus B250 MINING EXPERT remains 12 slots for upgrade  Grin

From where I sit.... using those "modern" motherboards with bunch of PCI-e slots and put over there all your cards is the same as to put all your eggs in one basket. Besides such boards, full of graphic cards, are quite greedy for power end require costly PSU. So, for me the better option is to have a few rigs equipped with AsRock H110 PRO BTC which, moreover, had  shown its reliability.

Have been checking about this too, and I came across Asus B250 Mining Expert LGA1151 motherboard and It has 19 PCIe slots. I think you can check it out too, as the price looks friendly and can easily be ordered.

FYI the 6-slot Gigabyte GA-H110-G3A boards can now be had for less than £25 here in the UK. That's a steal if you ask me. You can actually put 7 GPUs on them if you use a M.2-to-PCIe adapter.

I've been using a combination of boards that I bought used from 2016-end of 2017.  Currently, with prices as low as they are on hardware I'm consolidating all my random_board_01 4-6 GPU rigs into 8-12 GPU rigs using Asus b-250 mining expert boards (30 to 50 usd on ebay used, 60 usd on amazon new) and 8gpu vedah frames (25 usd new on amazon) as I add new cards.  Just want to make configurations/maintenance a bit more uniform across the farm, to save time and a bit of electricity.

Out of all the boards I've ever used for mining, this one has been the easiest to configure & maintain.  Rock solid and highly expandable.  Only real downside I've seen from it is lack of an m.2 slot, but I've never seen a real need for that on a gpu rig.

I've thought about trying some riserless boards so I could ditch the headache of troubleshooting/finding bad risers...but just haven't done so.

Mining mainly depends on the performance of the graphics card, and the requirements on the motherboard are not large. Mining motherboards generally value PCI-E slots and stability. Recommend Soyo SY-B85,This is good, you can check it out for yourself.

The cheapest motherboard you can find that does the job for your needs flawlessly. Buying a very cheap used motherboard on ebay would be a great option, some will run up to 6 gpu's no problem.
You're right. You can find a fairly inexpensive option on ebay and he will cope with all the tasks assigned to him.

As per my searching e z270p, z270a and z270e are good for mining, z270e has inbuilt WiFi so this is superior than other two, these three are common and working good as per my aspects.

I always settle for ASUS Z270-P Motherboard. Get some M2 to PCIe adapters and you are ready for 8 GPU motherboard.
Economical price and very reliable.

I can second this. Use this motherboard with adapters and have had no problems.

It also seems to be available in most countries. Some of the more crypto specific motherboards have limited stock or require international shipping. The Z270-P is a lot more common.

Hi everyone,

I would like to know what is the best motherboard for mining right now?

I am currently using Asus prime Z270-A right now but one of them is dead...so I need to buy a new one.

My cards are RX580 and I need 7 slots

What is your recommendation?

Thanks!

maybe for my recommendation, for a motherboard to mining cryptocurrency, you can choose  ASROCK H110 PRO. because it had a lot of slot PCI-e to attach with your graphic card. besides that the shape is pretty sturdy and small so it doesn't need much space for this motherboard

Asus EXPEDITION EX-B250-V7 is the coolest motherboard for mining. It is safe, and the user does not meet any problems using it. Asus Z170-P is the perfect choice for those, who are planning to build a farm.

Thanks to its extremely solid build quality and slots for up to 13 GPUs, the AsRock H110 BTC+ is one of the best mining motherboards you can buy today. These features allow you to expand as needed, so you won’t find a much better future-proof board. It might be a bit overkill, as Windows 10 only supports eight GPUs, but there’s no harm in preparing for future updates. The AsRock H110 BTC+ may not be the best motherboard for mining if you’re a beginner, but if you’re looking for a more advanced platform – you can’t go wrong with the AsRock H110 Pro BTC+.

Like the previous post, Asus PRIME Z270-A motherboard is one of the right choices I guess. This is an alternative that is widely used by miners because it is easy and the price is quite affordable.
My uncale also used same montherboard like you mentioned. I've learned from him that it’s very useful and untill now it’s working smoothly without any issues.
As long as that will be matched with your budget and that will not bring yourself in the lose and that's will be useful. to build a mining rig is not just about to use the latest mobo that can be putted a lot of GPU too. there was a lot of reasons need to be considered.

I am using Gigabyte h110 BTC pro and love it! This is working for around 2 years with no problems. Easy to setup, nice price, good quality...
Previously I had one Asus and my oppinion was not so good on the long run
I am now a Gigabyte fan  Grin  these boards are made especially for mining and the cost is very nice, so why use gaming stuff?

If I personally still use Asus ROG Strix Z270E, for motherboard mining, maybe it is common with this Asus ROG Strix Z270E motherboard so I still use it, maybe I can recommend using a motherboard that is roughly in accordance with the coins that will be mining.

I think that the Biostar B250 Mining the latest version which is with 12 pcie slots will do the job easily and nicely for you.

I don't remember exactly now but they have a good tutorial to setup your motherboard that covers everything, just have to google for it and it will be the first result.
I am using 3 of these boards and they look solid so far.

i paid 30$ for an Asus P5QC, 16$ for a Xeon X5460, 10$ for 4gb ddr3, and 30$ for a pcie to 4pcie card, and this rig  mined for months with 6gpus rock solid and all cards well above 31mh/s so performance was incredible for this cheap.

It depends on various factors: manufacturer, number of GPU, CPU, cost.
2 years ago the best choice for me was Gigabyte GA-970 - it has 5 PCI-E slots, supports AMD CPU, that costs $5 at Aliexpress and it was optimal for 1000 PSU. Yet it was possible to buy and it was really cheap.
Now I preffer GIGABYTE GA-H110-D3A, for top GPUs and ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ for 1060

If I still rely on Asus B250 Mining Expert Motherboard, Form factor: ATX | GPU Support: 19 | Supported processors: 7th and 6th Generation Intel Core i7 / i5 / i3 / Pentium / Celeron (Socket 1151) | Slots: 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16, 18 x PCI Express 2.0 x1, 2 x DDR4 DIMM. maybe different from the other miners, but I still rely on this motherboard.

There are various motherboards that are considered good for mining. For instance, you can get Asus ROG Strix Z270E, Gigabyte GA-H110-D3A, ASRock H110 Pro BTC, and /or Asus B250. Their prices vary greatly, however.

I read from my chat groups in WhatsApp that my friends recommended Asrock H110 Pro BTC+ for the mining. They say that the motherboard has worth to use for more than 10 GPU, but it depends on the Power Supply you want to use. They say that Asrock is the low-level budget and it's quite strong to mining. Maybe you can compare with the other motherboard, and if I am not wrong, there is a website that you can use to comparing between each motherboard, but I forget what the name of the website is.

ASUS mining expert (19 PCIE) for 39€ or ASrock BTC+ (13 PCIE) for 31€. Mainboards are so cheap this time  Grin

+1 to this.  some great options right now.

The price has fallen dramatically after the fall of the entire market. Now it is advantageous to take such an option, but only for the mining grin or beam.

Why not use a motherboard which is made for mining purposes like h110 BTC pro and tb250-BTC mining board which is I think the best for mining.

Dark blue mother board have more lifespan compared to green board this is just what I notice if I run 24/7 mining.

In this agree. From my experience what was originally intended for mining works longer because it is able to withstand more stress and has wear resistance.

Here is a complete list of the most popular mining motherboards on the market for 2019

https://cryptominertips.com/recommend-hardware-for-crypto-mining/gpu-mining-motherboards/
That's a good list.
It will all depend on your budget and the amount of GPUs you want to stick on it.

I personally had two MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon... that died almost simultaneously after roughly two years of use.

I've built rigs on GIGABYTE GA-H110-D3A's which are nice and cheap and easy to setup. I find 6-7 GPU boards the easiest to manage. You can power the GPUs with one or two PSUs and the size remains manageable.

The bigger boards (10-, 12- 18- slots) might be very good too but good luck with the troubleshooting once shit starts to hit the fan...

Any full-size Asus Z270 is good, I've got some z270p, z270a and z270e. Without splitters it's only 6+2 gpus max with z270p, 7+2 gpus with z270a and z270e. The latter has inbuilt wifi. If you don't need it, then z270a will do. If you don't need to connect more than 8 gpus, then z270p will do.
I'd stay away from z170 boards in general though (unless you can get one super cheap, and you're 100% sure it'll work with your 7 gpus).
