best software bitcoin wallet
  • Segwit support
  • Lightning Network supported
  • Full open-source
  • Control over your Bitcoin
  • Basic privacy which is it will generate new address after having transaction

All of these features are on Electrum wallet, if you're going to ask me for the best software wallet, I'd go with Electrum.

However, there's no safe wallet at all, they are still vulnerable to hacking or even stealing your personal gadget to hack your Bitcoin.  It all depends on us how we keep our private key safe.

I've got to go with Electrum on this one.
Maybe because I was so used to it that I didn't even try a lot of other wallets. Security is my number one concern, and Electrum has been proven for years particularly if you use it in tandem with a hardware wallet. Ease of use is also very good since it has a very clear and intuitive gui.

Bitcoin core should be one of the best Bitcoin wallets but the only problem is you will need to sync or download the blockchains, unlike the other wallets.
That's why I end up using Electrum which is a lite version of Bitcoin Core and I also using wasabi. Both wallets have Segwit support, coin control, and have unique security features but still, it depends on how you protect your wallet from any attacks.

Adding this below, it may be useful to other people who seek for complete wallet comparison. Just found it when I search on Google so credit to Veriphi and Google.

"Best" is very dependent on the specific user and use case.

For me, a good wallet has to be privacy preserving. And with that, the majority of wallets are not an option.
The only two left for a desktop computer are Bitcoin Core and Wasabi.

Everything else for a desktop system is just bad regarding your privacy. If we are also talking about mobiles, samourai would be the 3rd wallet.

I agree that a good wallet must be secure and user-friendly, but I can't say that Wasabi and Guarda are easy in use. Ownr wallet, for example, will be better for newbies and it's non-custodial (=safe).
Actually no. Ownr wallet is just user-friendly. Electrum on the other hand is what makes a newbie understand more about bitcoin. It uses a simple GUI, exactly what a bitcoin wallet should do. It also has more options than ownr, like encrypting/signing messages. Last time I checked ownr didn't. Anyone that tried electrum, used to it.

Newbies don't need a "beautiful" wallet to begin with. They did this before they made an account here.

I haven't used Wasabi myself so I have to go with Electrum, besides it has a very easy to use dual cold/hot storage setup for those who want to keep their coins safe. It also is much older and supports lightning network.
That is if you want SPV option, otherwise going with a full node your choice is bitcoin core since there aren't really any other popular options out there.

Hey everyone.
What do you think is the best software bitcoin wallet and why?
Personally I think the best wallet is a combination of security and ease of UI. My current favorites are WasabiWallet and Electrum.

What are yours?
