Something major needs to happen to it to drag it up out of the eternal dead end it's always been in. I've also tried multiple Openbazaar search engines and they could not find one single common item. It's bordering on surreal.
Believe me, I've been searching on OpenBazaar for good sellers to no avail. It seems that there's not much interest from everyday people into such an innovative marketplace. At least, the idea/tech is there. Usability/mainstream adoption is what really matters in order to make the project successful. OpenBazaar's current state, shows us it's very far from becoming a huge contender of well-established marketplaces such as eBay or Amazon. Most items available on OpenBazaar are crypto-related, which limits my purchasing options by a long shot.
Speaking of OpenBazaar, I've stumbled across another decentralized marketplace on the Syscoin Blockchain. It's another option for buying/selling things directly with crypto in a common platform, but it also lacks mainstream adoption. Until OpenBazaar or any other decentralized marketplace gains traction, eBay and Amazon will be my marketplaces of choice for online shopping.
