I've used Coinbase to purchase my coins... but I'm worried about their long-term viability and their lack of communication.

Bitfloor is US-based, I think. There's always localbitcoins.com.

Mine some of your own BTC, get it into mtgox, sell it, and go from there has been the way I am doing it. If I want my money out of MTGox, I just convert it back to bitcoin and get it out of there

Coinbase also does not work.  Every attempt to buy BTC gives the error message, "Sorry, Coinbase has reached its maximum number of bitcoin purchases for the moment. Please try again later. We'll continue raising this limit over time."  It has been like that for weeks.

Hi guys... been lurking on the forums for awhile. I picked up some coins when they were approx 22 USD, so I'm pretty excited to start helping the Bitcoin economy.

So, what is the best Mt. Gox competitor that's US based?
