Hi, men!
I using WatchDog PWR 3.0. This is a best device for Rebooting Mining Rigs.
Some one man make it in Ukrain and send it in your country.
Take a link on this site: http://watchdog.in.ua

You can ask about functionality of this is device.
This WatchDog can do everything:
• The function rebooting PC like a button RESET.
• The function of cold rebooting PC like a button POWER.
• The function of turn on PC after electric power crash.
• The function of tracking GPUs usage by GPUs driver.
• The function of tracking GPUs temperature by GPUs driver.
• The function rebooting PC when Claymore miner not working.
• The smart-reboot hardware analytic block.
• The function logging of reboots reason by date in log file and on the site.
• The function rebooting PC when WiFi adapter disconnect.

I recommend you this device.

I use WATCHDOG PRO2 (PBD10) for more than half a year on two mining farms and there have never been any problems. Here's the description: The watchdog timer USB WatchDog Pro 2 for automatic restart when the PC, modem, terminal hangs.  Clamps signals "Reset" of the motherboard when it hangs, but, if it does not help, clamps on "Power".  Has an additional input, to which it is possible to connect a thermal sensor or a source of a digital signal.  It has a lot of settings.  Operating principle: The device expects a periodic signal from the PC via USB (virtual serial port).  If no signal comes in during the set time, USB WatchDog Pro2 sends a signal to the Reset contacts.  If, after pressing the Reset for a specified time, no signal is received, the USB WatchDog Pro sends a signal to the Power contacts.  The watchdog timer has one additional input channel for connecting the end sensors or the temperature sensor ds18b20.  With the thermal sensor connected, the watchdog timer can turn off the PC when the critical temperature is reached.  It is also possible to programmatically read the temperature using a text protocol.  Key Features: Runs under OS Windows / Linux / Mac Os X. Connects via PBD10 (USB) interface.  "Presses" on Reset after 5 minutes (default) after a hangover and, if not, on Power after another 5 minutes (default).  It has 2 galvanically isolated outputs (transistor optocoupler).  Additionally, it reboots the PC with a long "push" on the Power in situations where the PC does not respond to the Reset.  Has the ability to programmatically manage channels.  Turns on the PC by pressing Power after losing power (the power supply to USB in the BIOS should be turned on).  Has the ability to fine-tune the channels and the algorithm of operation.  Has the ability to limit attempts to restart the PC.  Has a simple open protocol for implementing the latest version of the control program.  Can reboot the PC in case of overheating (when connecting an external temperature sensor).  It has small dimensions 57x14x10mm (USB TypeA) / 48x14x10 (USB PBD10).  Compatible with OD-FarmControl - Miner management program.

Windows 1709 update broke my watchdogs Wink

Got the cheap double relay ones from china and they all stopped working with the update.

Anyone got a solution for this? They worked really good before :/

While this is a great tool for Resetting a mining rig I think you can do without it. In times when your rig crashes occasionally or when the energy goes out (this happens in shitty third world countries mainly but not only) I have set the BIOS to Restore AC after power loss. Have set up Nicehash to start with Windows and to autostart mining.
Great in case of a reboot but doesn't work if your rig crashes and stops responding.

This has been a great beneficial thing to me so far but 20 USD is not expensive even for one mining rig as you can make that amount in 2 days with a good 6 x GPU rig.

any reason not to use a smart plug?

https://www.tp-link.com/us/products/details/cat-5516_HS100.html

you can turn the PSU off and on with your phone. set your BIOS to turn on the system as soon AC power is detected.

Smart plugs work fine except they...

1 - Can be expensive when you have 10+ rigs, every dollar counts.
2 - Sometimes you want a more automated recovery than manual. I do this now with SmartPlugs and SmartThings.
3 - Not all SmartPlugs in the US (actually I think none) are rated for 240v.

I have the USB ones with dual relays on two rigs. Mine work fine. I have then set for 120 second timeouts, and also they monitor that the mining script itself is working.

Can you link or email me a link the the software?  I bought 4 of these and an Flink wifi switch and it did not include instructions or software. I have the version with 2 relays.

I have tried both the dual relay version on ebay/alibaba and the one that doesn't have relays. Both seem to not work well for me.  The one without relays didnt work at all, it never restarted my rigs when they locked up.  The one with relays works, but seems to reset my machine every 5 minutes or so even when nothing is wrong.  I would also like to know if anyone has gotten these things working.

I personally went this route too: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5-HND9HJkXWSTQtYlFTZ3VyODA/edit

<$50 to control 8 rigs(could control more with another relay) & a simple script to ping the rigs. BTW a few days ago someone added a PR to integrate pushover: https://github.com/Kasmetski/auto-hard-reset/pull/5 which is really handy I think Smiley

My rigs don't hang/go down often but when they do I don't notice a difference anymore Smiley

Do you actually need a hardware part to perform the hard resetting?
I have a (windows-based) thin client that's on all the time, so it could take care of the pinging...

That looks interesting, but we don't have a Raspberry Pi, so that would be the cost of 2+ usb watchdogs. Most importantly this needs to be something my wife can handle and as close to plug and play as possible. So reliability and convenience are bigger factors then cost for us (although cost is important).

You'll love it after giving it a try. Once it has been configed properly, you can connect to the Pi remotely via internet, don't need to bother your wife.
1 Raspberry Pi(35$) + 1 5V relay board(5$) can control 8 rigs, you can add 1 more relay board for 8 more rigs, very cheep.
Take a look at my build:

Does anyone have a favorite USB Watchdog for resetting your rigs when they lockup or freeze at inopportune times? SimpleRigResetter looks really slick, but it's out of stock and frankly more then we really need... plus we would prefer to not have even more cables stretched allover.

I've been looking at this one, but I'm open to suggestions of others, especially if someone has used them with good results. --- http://www.ebay.com/itm/Watchdog-Timer-USB-DOG-Terminator-NEW-2017-Ethereum-Mining-automatic-Reboot-Boar-/152697157352?hash=item238d75b6e8:g:EP0AAOSwEWtZs6Kf

thanks
