Diversifying is to decrease risk, it may not increase your profit. I diversify to 15 coins at most.  You should at least know what coin you are investing  Roll Eyes Investing in 50 coins is nonsense.

So there are now over 1300 Alt Coins, many predict nearly 1000 are scams/no future.

That still leads 300+ left.

My question is what is the best way to vet these coins and say someone has about 50 different alt coins, how to do your due diligence to decide to keep or not?

This is true but i would like to add that out of the 300 coins, 200 of them have no real use or potential, so that leaves you with only 100 coins to think about investing in. But only the top 50 really have good potential.

The best way is to watch the top 100 Coinmarketcap and research one by one the coin until you feel the coin has a potential and will make your investment profitable.

Personally, I rarely Invest so many coins at the same time. Its just time consuming to watch strictly the coins development. It needs a deep research and analysis to find a promising altcoin.

People do not even read anything about the company that issued the coin. Basically guided by signals from the telegrams of the channel or others. In the end, they lose all their investments. As I consider 1200 of the 1,300 companies that issued coins are scammers.

If so happen that nearly 1000 out of 1300 altcoins are scams and no future, it is indeed an early warning or signs that we must be absolutely observant. Also a  thorough research on each coin will be helpful and beneficial before we take risk on our investments and have regrets in the end. Trusting is the very crucial thing doing investments, you are entrusting without assurance that you will gain or loss, so we should be keen and knowlegdeable enough.

For me, if there are 1300 Altcoins already, 1000 of them are obvious scam, but people are blind to see the obvious until they get scammed especially these lending platforms, so only 30 out of the remaining 300 will become a success
Yes. select no more than 10 coins

You obviously need to research every coin you'll be investing in. But in general, if you want to risk more, take a look at low market cap coins, if you don't want to risk much, take a look at those in Top 10 market cap... those have been here for quite some time and are well established.

I only get alt coins whos on the 10 of the market and that has been around for so long, yeah there are so many alt coin and majority of them are scam coins to be exact, alt coin ICO nowadays is hard to trust and probably just want to get money from investors.

Do a thorough research on each coin you're going to invest in or read research from trusted source.
There is no easy way to determine, otherwise there were no failed coins.
