I had a Xion 1250 watt PSU go out on me today, BANG dead, and it was only drawing around 900W.  It has two dual 6pin cords, two 3x molex cords, two 4xsata cords.  I had 4 6950 cards hooked up using the 6pin cords for two of them.  The other two I had 1 molex cord for each, with one 2xmolex to 1x6pin and 1 1xmolex to 1x6pin adapter.  I'm thinking that some of the wattage may be unavailable or reserved for the SATA cords, so when I replace it was going to use one 1xSATA-->1xMolex adapter with one 1xMolex -->1x6pin on each of the SATA cords to power one card.  Will this make any difference or is it a bad idea to use this setup?
