Does nobody know how to actually measure power draw? Use an amp clamp and do some basic math

This is what I was thinking. Just using a multimeter to measure Amps and Volts and multiplying Smiley

I'm just not sure where to connect the positive from the multimeter on the RX 570 card. Anyone know? Or maybe I can connect it to the PCI slot or riser?

I use Corsair Link to see AC input, DC output, efficiency, temperature, fan speed, etc.

That doesn't help me since I'm running ethOS (Ubuntu) Wink

One way is to use a dual PSU setup where the primary PSU is for motherboard and risers and a secondary PSU for the GPU VGA power. You can then use a power meter to measure the power consumption on that PSU.

To get a reliable reading you should really buy a watt-meter. One of those you put in your outlet. This is the only way you will know for sure how much power you're using. Diffrent miners have power settigns aswell, but these are not reliable i have found out.

Yeah but that will just tell me the total system usage, not the usage of each individual GPU.

Ok it sounds like the Kill-A-Watt measures at the outlet, but how do I measure the consumption of EACH individual AMD GPU?

Maybe a setup like this? lol

Steady State Finance
Power meter (like killaWatt) will talk about actual electricity being used, how much power used when the system is idle, working, GPUs when Idle or working.

Killowatt if you are in USA or  TPLINK HS110 if you are in Europe/Asia would do the trick too.

get a killowatt meter and you will tell instantly and most accurately.

You NEED a power meter if you are building mining rigs. Otherwise you can only guess what the true power draw at the wall is.

Is there a linux app that'll do this effectively?

Or should I buy a power meter?

Thanks in advance Smiley
