Search using Google's advanced search: https://www.google.com/advanced_search

There's also a shortcut for this. That's what I am using. It's faster that opening advanced search every time.
At the end of your search terms in google just add site:bitcointalk.org
For example: segwit address types site:bitcointalk.org

Hi all,

Been really trying to use the search function on bitcointalk.org to find Altcoin Announcements and
the search results, are not accurate at all in any way.

Any suggestions, on how to get better search results?

The search function finds the content in only the section you are in. So it is recommended to search something staying at the index (Home) page so that it brings the results searching the complete forum. It works totally fine for me.

Was also thinking about a way to track any new thread created on
the Announcement Section of bitcointalk.org.

Is there a way to do this?

Go to the section for which you want to get notified for new topics. There is a button right beside the Pages section below "Child Boards" named "notify" (if you can't it, simply press Ctrl+F and write 'notify' in there. It will find it for you). Click on that and you will get a pop up alert asking you to allow notifications for new posts in that section, and click "ok". Now you will get notifications for the new topics posted in that board.

I often use Google Search and I think it better our forum fuction.

You can try: ICO name + bitcointalk
Exp: ANN ICON bitcointalk

Or

Site: bitcointalk + something (ANN, Bounty, Airdrop) + Google tool (today, pastweek,...)

There is no easy way to search this forum except to navigate  through  the left side menu bar.  Better off using google search.  The search feature is so archaic it wouldn't search anything of value in the search criteria.

For someone who don't know how to use search function in the forum. This one can help you to get what you want. Please follow these steps, then you can use search fucntion more efficiently. It will help you to save your time, and find what you want.
Additionally, searching before posting is very important to avoid spamming, unintentionally plagiarising (which seriously violate forum rules that result in bans).
