you need to know that creating a token or starting a new erc 20 coin has a very high cost and risk, you have to consider everything that will happen in the future, I mean you have to be ready to accept whatever the risk is, maybe the first step you should do is choose a coin that is under the erc20 network and set up costs around $400-$500 to buy and pay for gas, you can do one copypaste token of course you have to pay blockchain fees you can try it on testnet and generator, good luck... .

First post! I'm looking to start a new erc 20 coin on the Ethereum network. What should the start up cost be? Is there a trusted company I can turn too? If there is other threads on this topic please point me to them, search function is slow on the site. Just looking for some more information current to 2022. Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you all and hopefully getting this project started ASAP! CHEERS!

Usually it's a work done by a team group. Unless you have enough knowledge yourself to create your own token (it will cost you time and network fee), you need a team who adopt your concept. Devs in the team will make it work.

Note that there do exist many public codes for smart-contracts to create a token in the Ethereum network. All what you need is to edit some variables to set the supply, decimals,symbol... then broadcast it to the Ethereum mainnet (use metamask for easy experience). However, this won't help you a lot because you still need an experienced person to design the code according to the concept you are willing to establish unless you want to create a token just for fun.

Creating is easy but we dont need anymore shitty coins in the market.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

this is my sentiment here. if the OP is planning to create another crappy eth token. better forget it. because if he is serious and has the solid background to develop a project, he won't be asking such basic question because if he has the capability or funds, he already found an appropriate developer for this and did extensive research for this venture. but my impression says, he wants to create another soon-to-be-sh*tty token trying to rip off naive users by selling that crappy token.

I don't know how what do you mean by this but it is well functioning for me. But hey, this isn't google that could give you answers and links to things that you want, sorry.

You can at least buy copper membership if you are planning to use your account to moderate the thread's company you are making. Build a team based on the budget you have. The more experienced team the better, but cost more money. Specify the project you want to make, start slow and don't rush things. I think a good product is worth investing these days, long term investment is better than pump and dump ones. By the way, what network would your project be in?

Best way to start new project on Ethereum blockchain is to consider starting project on BinanceSmartChain blockchain. I am not joking. Since you are asking an advice on a forum, and is lazy to google, I believe you dont have a uniq idea behind your project. Which means serious investors will skip your "new erc 20 coin", but those are interested, will be scared by Ethereum network fees even at the moment of buying your coin token.

the right step is to choose coins that are under the erc20 network, but are you ready to bear it?
the initial costs are quite high. maybe at least you have to prepare a fee of around 300$ to be used to pay for gas costs
plus the price of the coins you will buy.
maybe you can try a network other than erc20 like bep20 coin, solana, or atom
I found so many outsourcing sites where those people offer a low amount of money to create a new contract address, especially fiver. Still, I'm confused why you agree to pay extra cost by staying at Ethereum Blockchain. We know that contact address isn't a major issue. Binance Chain will offer high cost in the future but Polygon is secure to create one. Binance always tried to withdraw or minimize the transaction cost compared to others. By these rules, we shouldn't pay extra costs on different Blockchain.

I think there are quite many of the freelancers that works under category of cryptocurrency offering services for deploying new ERC20 based tokens for really cheap price if i’m not mistaken
its not gonna cost that much since deploying ERC20 actually is very easy, I think if you are already experienced with blockchain or have some kind of experience you could just implement the ERC20 protocols by extending the already existing interfaces
and then just deploy it in the blockchain, thats more or less the steps if you wanna deploy your own new ERC20 I guess.
Using token generator was too risky these days

All you guys busy commenting and giving your opinion,,, only one guy actually posted a place to look.

So here, let me help you out and post 1 good link for OP to consider: https://vittominacori.github.io/erc20-generator/

You can do one copypaste token for exactly free (pay blockchain fees of course). It's as cheap as about $140 now to remove copyright, but try it on testnet first.

You are welcome!  Cool

The first thing to consider is why are you trying to create a token? What are you trying to fix in crypto? What's your idea all about? Mind sharing some information about these first? This days everyone wants to create tokens for selfish interests only sorry if I sound too harsh.

I think that you must consider another blockchain. If you wanna try to create a new project that means you are new in the crypto. You can try to move from ethereum blockchain that will cost you bunch of money just to pay the transaction fees.

Why don't you consider issuing tokens on other chains?
I do agree with your statement and it seems like that if he doesn't even know about that. That's why he was taking ethereum blockchain to issue his new token for his new project. It seems like he was a newbie that was new in the crypto and think ethereum blockchain is still good to be used as token issuance.

You don't need any funds to create a project if you can develop your own project and there are service platforms which can offer the creation for few hundred dollars only but the problem is the gas fee of ethereum network which is around $30 to $50 for a token transaction so imagine how much you need if you have to distribute tokens to few thousand people.

According to the current unit price of eth, it is not recommended to issue tokens in this chain.

The cost is too high.

Why don't you consider issuing tokens on other chains?
Thats right. Its not bad actually however OP if you gonna do a start up but dont mind the fees inclusion on processing it then its good. But I suggest to look into other projects or L1 that let you create a project or own token for minimal fees. People nowdays are staying away from eth due to gas fee and thats not practical especially you are gonna do a new one. Not advisable but totally up to you.

In my opinion, instead of issuing tokens from the ERC20 chain, it is better for you to issue tokens from the binance chain or BSC only because it reminds the high price of the ERC20 chain now.
Can you afford all the costs?
Have you thought about it again if the shipping price will also be different Because making a token it certainly costs a lot.

The most important point in this regard is technology. What are you going to issue crypto money on and what sector do you plan to serve? If so, how much is your budget? Because the ERC20 network is a very costly network in terms of both token transfer and eth transfer. Today the token transfer cost is $15. Tomorrow the token transfer is $50. Can you afford it? This is the most important point. Apart from these, listing on exchanges is also very costly. Do you have the strength to make these listings? Considering all of these, I recommend you to issue tokens in the ERC20 network.

I am not really an expert in creating your own blockchain token but i don't really think that this necessarily has to be extremely expensive. There are certain costs involved for the network fee if you want to create your own token on the Ethereum network. Those can be a few hundred bucks or even a few thousand dollars if your smart contract for your own token is very big. If you have done this step then you have your own token, but it can not be traded anywhere therefore it has no value, which means you have to list on uniswap which also requires a few thousand dollars because you hav to provide liquidity for your trading pair.

If you wanna create your own token and you must have good basic knowledge about that. The most important thing you must remember is that if ERC 20 tokens charged you non sense fees. It's better if you are searching for an alternative blockchain like matic or BSC. This will cost you less than what ethereum blockchain will cost you. Try to remember that if you are also wanna distributing your token to another address and this will charge you very high fees for any transactions.
You can try to hire someone to create a token for you and then try to audit the code to a competent auditor like certik and hacken.
I think that you can start with this way. You can start your project as soon as you want

It all depends on what you want to create a token for?
If you have a plan and you only need someone to create smart contract, there are a lot of offers. You can look for them here, for example: Bitcoin Forum > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Marketplace (Altcoins) > Service Announcements (Altcoins) - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=197.0

Here is one offer, but I don't know how legit it is - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/coin-and-token-making-contracts-5371106

You need lots of money for that. The cost may vary and it can't be determined easily as there are so many variable when you wanna try to make a token but if you are only wanna creating a token and the cost will be around a few hundreds bucks to issue ERC token on ethereum network. This is also changing anytime depending on the network fees.

Is there a trusted company I can turn too?
It's better if you are issuing it by yourself to make sure there will be no backdoor.
