I think success in the area of remittance will inform how to proceed with real time in-store purchases.

Might have to do the bitpay thing here as people are used to needing a "service" to handle the payments here. The printed deposit cards are nice and could be great to have. .99%is kinda nice without fraud charge backs. We may just do the qr code of the address at first then see how it goes before we move to bitpay though.

Thanks with the extra ideas as i need to know them as I keep pitching the coins to the boss.

WalletBit offers the same service with no fraud charge backs for 0.89%

FOR DEMO PURPOSES ONLY here is a sample of just some of our checkout options http://www.acentralcafe.com/

I also recommend the mobile checkout https://walletbit.com/press/walletbit-releases-pos-mobile-checkout-for-bitcoin

Print QR code up of your store's address, with text version below. Put preev.com in one browser tab, blockchain.info/address/youraddresshere in the other. Customer comes to checkout, says "I'm ready to checkout, what's the Bitcoin price?" You put the fiat value in preev.com, it live-converts it to BTC. You tell the customer. Customer scans QR or types address in their mobile wallet, fills the amount, sends it. You hear a beep from blockchain.info - that is the unconfirmed transaction. Since double-spends are unlikely with mobile clients, you print a receipt using the txid, hand it to customer, done.

we do not have any online store but the paper wallet idea might OK then give them change back if needed or do the balance in cash.

I will also check out the point of sale as something that dials in like a cc machine to do bitcoins would make the market explode in retail settings.

Open to other ideas as I have the go ahead to bitcoin the stores.

WalletBit is developing a Point of Sale system and has a mobile checkout for both desktop and mobile clients. It works with any local currency value to receive Bitcoins. We charge a flat 0.89% on receiving bitcoin payments and provide additional functionality such as email and SMS.

For more details please see https://www.walletbit.com
For our mobile client please visit https://walletbit.com/responsepay/

display exact price in BTC with taxes, online (make a nice thread on this forum if you don't have a site), and ask clients to prepare a paper wallet with the exact amount if they wish to pay in BTC.
i think redeeming the Private Key is instant, not sure tho.

you could also ask clients that want to pay in BTC to pay online, and give them a Voucher with a unique ID number which can be printed out redeemed at your store

It just seems slow to accept them in a retail location and that would just not work here. I have tried to search using the search function but if anyone has a link to a good thread or suggestion let me know. also delicious bacon mayonnaise nipples
