I have never used it for myself but I have few friends who gave some really good reviews about it to me
But you can't run this on a managed Wordpress because even if they give you SSH access, they don't have Docker installed for security reasons.
The BTCPay server can be anywhere, does not have to be on the same server as WP. You need SSH for the myNode to add it if you don't want to pay for the better edition.
Side, note but important, if you are running BTCpay or any self-hosted payment service, make sure you know what you are doing.
Ask questions 1st. The money you save will be your own...

There are also "nodes in a box" like raspiblitz https://github.com/rootzoll/raspiblitz and mynode https://www.mynodebtc.com/ that have it as an addon.
Other options do exist, but without more info of what you want to do it's a good place to start.

Take note BTCpay on myNode require premium edition (which cost $99).
If you want to do the push a button to install of all the other apps it's $99.
You can add it yourself by following the regular guide by SSHing into your unit and doing it.
mynode gets you 85% of the way there by doing the rest of the stuff in getting your BTC node & lightning running.
So you can either pay $99 and click install or drop to a command prompt and do it yourself for the last 15%

I never used it myself but I saw good reviews for Gourl Wordpress plugin, that is 100% Open Source and Free, there is no monthly fee, no need for any ID verifications, No Bank Account, Anonymous, No Chargebacks, etc.

Alternatively, there's third-party (https://docs.btcpayserver.org/ThirdPartyHosting/) which host and configure BTCpay for you. But obviously you need to trust them not to do anything stupid or malicious.

Reviews will always have the worst of the worst responses and when a product is mostly rated highly its normally by user error that someone loses money or the product/service does not work the way they expected. I would say make a dummy site and just test the plugins. See if any of the plugins accept using testnet so you do not have to test with real money although its probably best that you use a open source plugin or get a custom coded one so you can be sure that no malicious changes are made.
