Sorry but is this  bet9ja.com/  what the OP meant - the number one betting site in Nigeria? but why can't i access it? should I use a VPN?
Seems like they ban ip address or dns filters. Regarding your issue I can access the site its probably something on your end, I cant see that user is not allowed using vpn while accessing the site.

Bet9ja is a bookie, while Bitcoin is a currency or store value similar like gold, precious metal, etc. Comparing bet9ja and Bitcoin is like comparing orange and apple, both of them are different and it's doesn't make sense to compare a different thing.

100 Naria are worth $0.2 yep this is small amount, maybe it's not even enough to pay the fees on regular day. You need to saving your money first until it reach above $10. Bitcoin is expensive for poor countries, but it doesn't mean you buy it.

look on this concept it is show that most of Nigerian prefer bet9ja than bitcoin, because mentality of Nigerian is that they need fast money they will not invest in bitcoin, sometime the money iinvolved in investing on bitcoin could too big to go with so the prefer bet9ja by using 100naria to bet an expect big money at the end of the day
If i understand your impression, instead of people investing their money into Bitcoin which could make them a millionaire if they hold for the long term, they choose to spend the money on gambling which i believe is logical and I believe most gamblers won't see it as a big deal because when gambling buzz takes over a gambler emotion she can do something ridiculous.

From your post, you definitely not a gambler.

From the OP I get the feeling you don't know much about Bitcoin. I mean comparing Bitcoin to sports betting tells me you think bitcoin is some sort of gamble. This is not the first time I have heard that. I suggest you do your own research

Do you have the statistics to support this? A source would be appropriate

There are two distinct things when it comes to gambling and investing in bitcoin. You see, gaming will never make you rich or make you money. Do you have any idea why? Because no matter how much money you gain, you will squander it away. It's just the way the gaming industry operates. Investing in bitcoin has a much higher chance of success than gambling. You do not lose all of your money when you use bitcoin. Bitcoin requires patience; it is similar to purchasing a goods and selling it when the price is high, but gambling is a game of chance.

If you are a Nigerian, you can discuss this on our local thread, Nigeria (Naija) next time.

Also, I do not think this is necessary, countries have gambling sites, but that does not mean they do not adopt bitcoin. Remember Nigeria is leading in p2p in Africa and also above first 10 in the world.

Bet9ja os a betting site (gamble) while bitcoin is not a gamble but rather an investment on a digital currency, one can easily loss the whole capital fund in betting while bitcoin can only drop in prize or increase in value, one thing you need to know is that playing any sought of gambling by staking a particular amount has more risk of loosing thank winning unlike bitcoin which can guarantee increase in your fund than loosing it entirety.

For those who do not understand the OP, Bet9ja is a top, prolly the number one gambling/betting website in Nigeria, where you can place bets on varieties of stuffs, especially football and other virtual games.

Now to the point, OP i really do not understand what you mean by your thread and its purpose, Bet9ja and Bitcoin are two different things, and in case you do not know, betting isn't peculiar to Nigerians, it happens in pretty much every country in the world where it is legal, one can also invest in Bitcoin and still place as much bets as they want. Finally there are also a lot of crypto/Bitcoin betting websites, just take a look at majority of signature campaigns in the forum and you'll understand, so Bitcoin is also used to play bets, so it's a win-win situation for the 'two parties'.

Finally, there is a local Nigerian thread, here is it, you can move it there as i don't think this belongs to B&H

LOL
You are talking about gambler. Regardless of what they xan or can't expect about BTC to bring for them, they will continue gambling. It's an addiction; not just to make money, of course making money is the motive at the beginning but it gets turned into addiction when we get regular in it.
