More than two months of serious brainstorming, 11+ hours of youtube videos, 30 thrilling heads-up matches, 4 days of complete madness and after countless personal messages, here we are with the winner of 2025 Bitcointalk Special Heads-Up Poker CHampionship ; Congratulation @mv1986 for the bragging rights for whole year. Grin.
I want to thank BetFury for sponsoring this community event and all the efforts and guidance of Royse (He is a crazy work machine, always delightful). Special thanks to @tetaeridanus for additional $40 worth of sponsorship.
Most importantly I want to thank every participant for trusting me with their money and time, I hope I did not disappoint you.
This was my first effort and I need a lot of improvement, I apologise for any inconvenience caused by me.

3. iv4n                   : waiting for payment address (pm sent)

Let me put in the whole name BetFury.com so they get notified in case they have something like a notification bot. So amazing that they sponsored this without any conditions, you wouldn't even need an account with them. Great move and certainly the right way to attract new enthusiasts for their platform. They have also got this incredible well designed poker table by memehunter, well done!

@tetaeridanus I appreciate that, thank you very much!

I ask for some people here to drop some merits on memehunter as he clearly deserved it. He was after us all so we don't miss any deadlines, get all the participation requests out in time and what not. Since I only had 3 smerits left, I dropped 2. But I will drop as soon as I receive some.

Cool stuff and let me know if there's is anything you need with organization in the future, very happy to help. We can come up with all kinds of stuff, different formats, searching sponsorships, but first and foremost try to grow the poker community here. I am sure that is why you made the Youtube move memehunter and it's a good idea, but it is cumbersome to grow there and get any attention. We'll have a talk about how videos may get more attention.

Well done!

By the way, is there any chance that you will accept a sponsor?

I may give it a try. If there are none I can convince then I will be supporting it with a $50 if that is okay with everyone.

$200 added on behalf of BetFury. So the official sponsor for the Event is now BetFury!

Not only them but I also sponsored AB de Royse not like you but small amount. Not boasting, just wanted to tell to this comment.

I congratulate mv1986 for reaching the finals! and best of luck to both of you!

I’m in next tourney! I hope we make a knock out bounty as well!

@memehunter thanks for taking all the time by the way to sort all of this out and be around while all of us have to get our games started and stuff. All the YouTube uploads. I can imagine it is a bit of work!

But I hope you won't stop organizing the next one. This format is fun, you can change the format if you like. I think we will have some discussions about that.

Generally, heads up is always a great format for this kind of competition. But you said an MTT version with knockout bounty is something you are considering? That's really fun! I have played tons of those. It gives the game an additional thrill.

But why turn it into a lottery now? I mean I don't care, but this is not how someone can show some skill and I thought you would rather be the kind of guy who likes to discuss strategies and skill. Why don't we play a three way table with normal conditions? It's fun and hopefully the others like it too.

It is not that you are going out of the tournament because of this flipout. The losers will still play best of 3 in stage 3. GL.

To be honest, choosing this blind structure was not what I wanted/expected. 5min blinds and half bb ante, at a 50bb starting stack? This means after 15min of gameplay both starting stacks are worth only 8bb. Didn't know we decided to have a hyper turbo tournament. With this nobody need a 5min break after a game because each game won't be longer than 10-15min.
More like a bingo game than poker. Going from no blind increase to a bingo game is a tough jump.
Gonna be allin or fold after 5-10min, doesn't sound fun.
It really looks scary. Instead of enjoying the game the players will have worry in mind that in the next hand they will loss all in ante :-D

We still have 15 minutes time to consider the following :-p

SB / BB (Antes) : Time
100 / 200 (50) : 30 minutes
Break 5 minutes
200 / 500 (100) : 30 minutes
Break 5 minutes

300 / 600 (150) : 30 minutes
Break 10 minutes
500 / 1000 (200) : ∞

This way for 1 hour and 50 minutes it's all good but before the third break after playing around two hours, things really need to wrap up soon.

Edit: Glad you changed it to 20min now, 5min would not have been poker.
It's a bit better now. Let's enjoy first 40 minutes :-D

I wonder if mv1986 is even aware of the fact that he never paid the buyin and Royse covered it for him. Never saw 1 word about that from him. Bit odd.
Anyway, hoping for a nice game against Royse tonight. Hope the game won't take forever since it's evening here.  Grin

Just in case I make it to the final rounds, 16:30 is very late for me, that's 1:30 in the morning actually. But like I said, it's a big "just in case", beating Royse will be a tough task.  Wink

@AHOYBRAUSE,

Look at you, already waving the white flag before the match even starts. Heads-up poker shouldn’t take longer than it takes to microwave a Hot Pocket, but you? You drag it out like some wannabe guru afraid to make a move. What’s the hold-up, champ? Too busy rehearsing excuses in case you get wiped out?

And let’s not forget the elephant in the room: not inviting me to the tournament. What’s the matter? Too scared of getting schooled by someone who knows the game? Nah, I get it. It's easier to sit on your high horse, throwing shade at people who call out your BS, than actually step up to the table with a real competitor.

You play like a cuck, act like a clown, and cry like a baby. “Oh no, time zones!” “Oh no, tough opponent!” Dude, this isn’t a poker tournament; it’s a pity party hosted by a bunch of soft-handed posers who can’t handle the heat.

This forum’s gone from legendary to a joke—Eddie’s little crypto circus, where pirates like you get to parade around unchecked. Keep playing your rigged games, keep getting offended, and keep running from real competition. You ain’t a poker king; you’re the jester in the court of mediocrity.

Because nobody wants to play with a whiny little b like you. Also, HU can take long if there is no blind increase. Now go back to your play money tables with your 0.08 weekly bonus.  Grin
And by the way, I urge anybody to give this serious spammer a fitting feedback for his antics in this forum. We should get rid of garbage like him quick.
And @you little clown, you think your retaliation feedback interests anybody? Word from a blazed out of his mind fool don't have any weight here. Eddie sends his regards, he had a good laugh when I showed him.

@AHOYBRAUSE,

Ah, the pirate speaks! But all I hear is a whimper from a sore loser desperately trying to salvage his bruised ego. Whiny little b? That’s rich, coming from the guy who’s already laying down excuses for his inevitable loss. Heads-up poker might take long without blind increases, but in your case, it’s just your cowardice stretching the game. Stop pretending you’re some strategic mastermind when you’re just stalling to avoid embarrassment.

Play money tables? 0.08 weekly bonus? Cute projection there. We all know Eddie’s favorites get their cut for towing the line, but let’s not act like crumbs make you royalty. You’re just another cog in the Stake propaganda machine, spinning narratives while dodging real accountability.

And this “serious spammer” rhetoric? Laughable. You don’t want fitting feedback; you want an echo chamber where you and your cronies can gaslight the forum without challenge. Trash like you has turned this once-great community into Eddie’s crypto playground, full of shills peddling rigged games and shady schemes.

Oh, Eddie sends his regards? Nice touch. Did he laugh at you too for being his puppet? Maybe instead of cozying up to him, try growing a backbone. The only garbage around here is you and your little crew of clowns.

Keep laughing, pirate. We’ll see who’s laughing last when the truth about Stake and its shenanigans finally comes to light.

@kingbj21
Please do not spam here. You can open a new thread, this one is solely for players who are already enrolled.

@memehunter,

Ah, the fox reveals its true colors. Seems like you’ve joined Eddie’s loyal brigade of enablers. Conveniently labeling valid points and challenges as “spam” just because they don’t align with the carefully curated narrative of this forum’s little clique.

This thread might be for “players already enrolled,” but let’s not pretend it’s not just another arena for Eddie’s pets to prance around, glorifying rigged games and shady tournaments. If you cared about fair play and transparency, you’d welcome open discussions, not shut them down under the guise of maintaining order.

But hey, you’ve made your stance clear. Keep licking those crumbs from Eddie’s table while the rest of us expose the rot beneath the surface.

Wink

Hi memehunter, I didnt walkover waiting for the time of my game since I read your inbox for the correction.

Just a small correction, it is on 20/01/2025, 8:30 AM PH time. I mistakenly typed 19.

Right now, its 7:44am in our country waiting for the above mentioned time you send for the game.

Maybe a consideration for this as I was informed with that time and waiting as of now.

Taken out by j9 preflop gg fellas and good luck to those still in.

If this happens again I would like to see blinds increase, same chipstack or 50k is ok, and a way higher buyin. Not sure how high a buyin I would be willing to go as it's mainly for fun but 25-50 sounds ok IMO.

Again, gl to all those left in the game.

Congratulations to @arallmuus! It was great playing against you.

To be honest, I had it in my mind that each round was only 30 minutes long. In the first round, I went all-in when I saw the time running out. In the second round, I focused on having the most chips by the 30 minute mark. When the game didn’t stop and kept going, I double checked the rules and decided to go all in again.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun!

Sorry but broke losers with conspiracy theories that are out to insult people are not welcome in this tournament. Take your several alt accounts and go play some play money blackjack on stake. And stop spamming here.

@AHOYBRAUSE,

What a fine example you set for this once-great forum—resorting to insults and gatekeeping when faced with legitimate questions and concerns. Is this really what the community has become? A crypto playground for Eddie and his affiliates, where any dissenting voice is dismissed as a "broke loser" or an "alt account"?

Instead of addressing the issues I raised—rigged games, unethical practices, and the blatant disregard for player fairness—you deflect with petty jabs. That says a lot about your priorities and your so-called "integrity."

Forums like this were meant to foster open dialogue, but it’s clear that those benefiting from Stake’s shady operations would rather turn it into their personal echo chamber. Keep your tournaments; they’re as transparent as the platform you so passionately defend.

To the rest of the forum: If we don’t call out these practices, who will? Let’s not allow this space to devolve into a safe haven for exploitation and manipulation.

@memehunter, I guess Antes are a must need. Breaks are needed too. My proposal to apply from tomorrow:

SB / BB (Antes) : Time
100 / 200 (50) : 30 minutes
Break 5 minutes
200 / 500 (100) : 30 minutes
Break 5 minutes

300 / 600 (150) : 30 minutes
Break 10 minutes
500 / 1000 (200) : ∞

This way for 1 hour and 50 minutes it's all good but before the third break after playing around two hours, things really need to wrap up soon.

I will keep this in mind for upcoming stages. Thanks a lot for your valuable feedback.
