Yes I have already moved over to dan.com / sedo and will do the sale there. I'm done trying to justify the price here. There are plenty of examples of IO domains in the 60-70K range and thats where I value this domain.

Thats a very nice domain name and I wish I could afford it!   As noted maybe you will get better results if you move it.

Bet.io is a nice domain but here's the thing. People base their Domain value at a price that is typically close to what online evaluators appraise such domains.

For this one, the max I found was from GoDaddy which appraised it at $11,000 and the least credible evaluation was from pc.domains which evaluated it at $1100

So you asking for a minimum of 7 BTC is you just clowning around and nothing more. I think you'll be lucky to get $10,000 to be honest.

OK in the effort to be transparent I can tell you what happened. I had 2 offers over 7BTC. One at 7.1BTC which I was 70% confident was genuine and would go though and another at 7.3BTC which was a last minute offer and I had low confidence in. It quickly became obvious the 7.3BTC was a piss take and so I believed I had the 7.1BTC offer to fall back on. So it turned out that the 7.1BTC offer was from an employee in a company who thought it was a good idea to buy the domain but when it came time for the management to sign off on it they had changed their minds which was a surprise for me as I had been promised it was a done deal. So then I have no more offers over 7BTC. I have other offers under 6BTC. So 2 reasons I dropped the price to 6.5BTC. I want to try and get the people who are offering under 6BTC to increase the offer a bit and with the USD price change in BTC it only seems reasonable to drop the price a bit. I agree I could have run the auction better but I have nothing to hide. I am just trying to get a decent price for the domain. For anyone that now wants to offer you can make an offer on dan.com and soon on sedo. We'll go with the more traditional way of selling premium domains and we can pay the extra charges involved in it. Cheers.

OK, name names.

People who fail to follow through with their bids are usually slapped with negative trust, so if you would be so kind as to provide some names, perhaps some screen shots as well given the actual bids don't seem to be in the auction thread, that would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Definitely sus. Timelord has already posted in the other thread asking where did the bids come from.

And the first few positive posts from the OP came from Newbie accounts.

When I posted I hadn't noticed the start date of that other thread, otherwise I would have mentioned it in my post.  Fortunately I know in the auction board you can't modify or delete your posts, so it's inprobable that anyone bid, then withdrew their bids (as far fetched as they were)

Its back on the market and starting price has been reduced to 6.5BTC. Cheers

This auction is very absurd, you say if the previous bid has reached 7.3 BTC, it should, if this is an auction, bidder 7.3 is the one who has the right to the domain you are selling.

NEW BIDDER. Current price is now 7.3BTC

-- Archive --

In fact, at this point, you are saying that the auction is re-opening at a lower price. Who is bidding your domain on the price of 7.3 BTC? is it the fictional bidder you created to raise the auction price for this domain? I think, no matter what price you lower the future, no one will believe to do this domain auction. Maybe you can sell this domain only at maximum $30 because of your fault.

OP must be having an imaginary bid on his domain. it's clear the OP is hyping the price for his domain expecting someone would fall for it. it true that the domain name is good but I doubt it's price would reach that high.

Yea already put up an auction there but I prefer to settle in BTC anyway.
Good luck with your sale.

If people here have suggestions on how to monetise then please feel free to PM me or reply here. Tks
How about contacting some casinos with this desired domain and allow them to use it and have a share with their profit, is that possible?

I think it is a lot of money for only a domain name with IO. If you would have a good domain name with BET in it, you could make much more. I do not think bet.io is so popular.
Bet.com would be a different story.

Bet.com would be many millions so it’s all relative.

I already created a new post in Auctions so I'll just delete this one once the auction has been completed. First qualifying bid has been made so the auction has started and will last for 48 hours. If anyone is interested please follow along in the post in Auctions.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/domain-name-betio-5273594

Thanks all.

Sorry to say that, but this is not how things works, you are posting bids coming from outside btctalk, where at very least, somebody should have created a new account to post his offer, or even better, only sr members at minimum could bid.

I totally agree with you. This is my first time selling a domain here and I guess it shows. Thats why I am going to probably list it on a premium domain site as this is not the correct place for this when it comes to high value domains. The 2 bids I got came though email instead of them posting here.

Ok, just an advice: btctalk is perfectly ok to sell high value domains, but you should take account of the extra steps to guarantee security, for example using escrow. As there won't be a chargeback risk like other platforms with credit card payment, you get a lower final price. Basically as BTC or other cryptos are better than credit cards or paypal for the sellers, they generally are ok with a lower final price.

Yea for sure we are going to use escrow. I might be a newbie but I'm not an idiot! Yes crypto is the preferred payment method. I don't want the payment in fiat as I'll just be buying crypto with it again. Yea I am open to offers on the price. I might have set my expectations a bit high but it won't be sold cheap either. I'll look for other means to monetize the domain if I have to. Cheers.

I actually posted here by accident. Should have been in auctions but if its getting a conversation maybe its ok here! Yea good domain. IO domains are worth more. Thats just the way it is.

You can still move it to the auction section by clicking on move topic at bottom right corner of the screen.

Are you looking for the perfect domain to go along with your new site. bet.io is for sale. Domain has been registered for many years but only been used for personal projects so its a clean domain. Starting bid is 7 BTC. Email bid to [email protected]. Cheers.

No one will buy this domain for you if you start your bid at 7 BTC. If you think your domain is that much worthy, try to auction it with a lower value and see if people are willing to increase the bids to purchase this domain.

I'm being transparent about my price. I know I could play some games but first person that wants it at 7 will have it unless there are multiple offers and then the fun can happen.

I think the fun will not begin here because 7 BTC is a big amount which i don't think any individual can spend. Some companies who are already running a profitable gambling business may contact you.

.
It's a good domain for online start-up technology and since we are using bet it's ok for online gaming and gambling UmerIdrees is correct you will not know the value of what you are offering unless you auction it first, even a trial auction will do.
You can take your time,  online gambling is a big business there will always new online ventures or companies that will look for a good name

Borrowed this list from another post in the Auctions.
Domain     Price
swipe.io    68,000 USD
lucky.io     67,000 USD
tank.io      60,000 USD
Jackpot.io  48,500 USD (most recent sale via DAN - 2020-07-05)
cloud.io     45,000 USD
esports.io  40,000 USD
cook.io      39,750 USD
matrix.io   30,000 USD
library.io   30,000 USD

Not to hate but 7btc is a huge price and amount for a domain. Take note that .io domain name listing costs only approx 30$ (based on the pricing of Namecheap - https://www.namecheap.com/domains/registration/cctld/io/). Though that was already had a good past (if it was used by other companies already), then the price must not increase that up high. Even if you made it to the Auction board, you would find it difficult finding clients with your offering.

Yea I see where you are coming from. I'm open to offers but it's not going to sell for much less than that as I already have offers in the region. I'll only get one chance to sell it so just trying to maximise it.

Yeah, that's a pretty good domain alright.

7 BTC sound like a lot tho, but it's hard to estimate true value of a domain.

I think to the right person/company its worth it. It offers a huge amount of credibility to a new betting site thats starting up. I'm open to offers. Its in the range of other good / short io domains. Maybe a little on the higher end.  You don't ask you don't get but I'm fairly attached to the domain so won't be giving it away either.
