This game might be something like a trap since you could use a wallet from a friend or family member with a whale account to sign for you. You could even pay someone less than the betting amount to help you win. It's not a great idea for anyone to participate. Just my two cents. Don't take it personally!

During this week, a deal can be made. In fact that's what I am going to offer to anyone that I feel like I'm going to beat. While you have 0.01 BTC in escrow (you will be the first to send), I'm going to tell you how much BTC I have and show you my wallet and allow you to get off the hook by settling for 0.0025 BTC. Of course you may think that this could be photoshopped, I could be bluffing, etc. and decide "screw you, prove it by signing the addresses". I wouldn't have a problem with that - I would simply sign messages and collect the full wager (minus escrow fees).
If you don't send to escrow first, I expect this:
-Bob sends 0.01 BTC and signed message to escrow
-You show an address that is not yours and ask for 0.0025 BTC
-If Bob asks for a signed message, you disappear. If Bob pays, you win.

Although this is much different than the usual topics this sub-forum receives, it is a forum-based game, so I do believe I have found the right section.

The proposition is pretty simple: I am willing to bet 0.01 BTC or more (if you desire) to prove that I have more BTC than you. The way this is proven is through signing messages from addresses that hold BTC. Whoever can 'outsign' the other person (proving they have more BTC) wins.

A neutral escrow will be used to hold the funds and to verify the signed messages (if one party doesn't simply resign). Trusted users can bet against me directly to avoid escrow fees. The bet will be settled after one week (if one party doesn't resign before then). That is in case one needs to pull funds off of exchanges into wallets they possess to sign messages.

The reason I am doing this is because I have created an incredibly difficult challenge for myself to get from 0 BTC to 1 BTC with the stipulation that it needs to be done from a completely blank slate. If I do win the bet by signing addresses, then that is using pre-established assets (giving an unfair advantage at the start of the challenge), and thus would invalidate the challenge (and possibly this Bitcointalk account if the user publicly states my position out of spite - they would have lost the bet by then). To count towards the challenge, everything that I can use must be created (or plausibly created) within it. So if I just tell you I have a certain amount (I do) and you believe me and resign, then that counts. But feel free to call my bluff!

I feel like this is the best way to start my Zero to One challenge and I do apologize for the apparent arrogance that you find in the title and some of the body but you may punish that arrogance by betting against me.
