My guess is that necessity took precedence over logic in this case - you needed the money so badly that you were willing to overlook possibility of a scam. There isn't much advice I can offer aside from using escrow next time or dealing with more reputable members - you hav my condolences of course.

It should also be noted I needed this loan for a rent payment on my apartment, which I can no longer pay and am evicted as of 9AM tomorrow morning.

THat sucks, I am doubtful that the user even had enough BTC for loaning to begin with.
He was a complete newbie, I have no idea why you decided to take the enormous risk and send your collateral directly to him.

I knew there was something fishy about him him. He was trying too hard to sound offended when I mentioned some escrow names to him for a loan. Granted it was slightly my fault at not noticing that Vod was mentioned as an escrow in between a conversation, but to by defense, he did not even bother to mention that fact on the OP even after that little friction... which is always a red flag. I just recently noticed he's locked that original thread after that betting accusation happened  Cheesy

Always use escrow when dealing with collateral and loans.  It is extremely easy for lenders with even good reputation to run off with your collateral. Some lenders will even prolong their lending "operations" until they reach a level of permanence on a thread that makes them seem reputable.

Trust me, I know Wink

Hi all,

I was involved in a loan with LendingTree.

The deal was:

I'd give him my daily 12x220 Riecoin payouts plus my current RIC holdings in exchange for a $1000 loan.

He responded quickly and was quite polite, until he had my coins.

Then it was one problem after another, then he claimed he had to 'go home cause his kids were there' and he had told me he came straight from work before.

To make a long story short, he took my collateral, strung me along for a few hours, then stopped responding.

If he decides to make good on this loan, I will remove this thread but I'm not holding my breathe. Please be careful.

It should also be noted I needed this loan for a rent payment on my apartment, which I can no longer pay and am evicted as of 9AM tomorrow morning.

When it rains it pours.
