its been 5  days that i put 20 btc into mercatox to buy XRB since price was increasing fast and and I could not lose the opportunity. When i bought they dont let me withdraw saying that the wallet of the coin was under maintenance. Have a lot of people with the same problem and they do not even respond to emails, tickets, 0 SUPPORT TO THE CLIENT .. now the site went offline GREAT
MAINTENANCE FOR 5 FUCKING DAYS ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
You better run before i hire a hitman to find you son of a bitch
But what will be happening if you are converting your XRB to the bitcoin again? It that's going smoothly and why don't you just try to convert it again? I think that majority of exchange are closing their wallet for the maintenance to avoid the arbitrage trade. This was happening with me in hitbtc when the price of zrx was very high and the team are closing the deposit service for zrx.

I am really sorry for you stress, inconvenience and whole situation. I can't say nothing to support You. It's a uncomfortable situation, I don't know how we can help you? It's a lot of money, and you know it. I will be scared to transfer 1 BTC to single exchange, probably will send 0.1, 0.5, 1 after first two transfers was all good and withdraw process was successful (back to my wallet). I know future is Decentralised exchanges, where human greed can't take over and steal your hard earned money or coins. I will consider find Mercatox residency address and personally go there with Police informed if they didn't respond. It's your money! It's you life! I will never let that go and be scammed with no reply or waiting process. For sure they based in UK, you will be able to take 20 BTC back then.

I thought it was normal for an exchange to not steal people's money, trust aside.
Seems that the consensus in this thread is that it's your own fault for using 20btc, sorry op WinkWink

Keeping big amt. of BTC on a single exchange wallet is totally foolishness. Many times exchanges block the funds of the users and ask for verification proof like passport etc. Therefore always keep big amt. In private key wallets only.

It seems all exchanges have exit plans nowadays  Cheesy This is a very usual thing that you can see on most exchanges. Usually hackers or govts steal your coins not exchange owners

20 btc is really too much trust on one single exchange I would rather settle without doing trade than to trade with such a risk. Even if the wallet would not have been on such maintainance its impossible to withdraw such a large amount in one single day considering that exchanges have high verification rules regarding it.

Any proof that you did deposited that 20 bitcoins to mercatox?

It's easy to say that I just deposited 100 bitcoins to an exchange and I trusted them with that big amount of money.

Maybe they are getting a wave of customers that are recently coming in and start trading them out and for now they can't cater it so they are starting to give you an headache.

It is true lately they have been having a lot of issues with withdrawal, as as you say they are having site maintenance and etc. Many are having withdrawal problems, let's just hope they are not scammers.

I have not had problems yet with Mercatox. I transferred smaller amounts, and did not test bitcoins, but last week the system was very slow and they warned that they would maintain their wallets. I expect them to regularize this situation.
