I use blockchain.info online btc wallet,it is fine for me

blockchain.info withdrawal fees is too high but i will no longer mind that in as much that it is safe and not just be changing btc address like under wear.

The purpose of this thread is to educate ourselves by learning from another person mistakes.

Most of this exchanges are next to scam, despite their twitter and warnings they should have a way of recovery any funds sent to an old address whether they format it or not, after all it their old wallet and they should be able to access it.

I could have been a victim of this type of thing also but my 0.04 btc funds were delayed by a friend and i have to create another address when i did not see any wallet when i log into my c-cex account.

the only thing you can blame them for is the fact that they did not contact us about the news through Email. at least i did not receive any emails about this. but luckily i became aware of the problem because i usually check their twitter + website news + my wallet status before making any deposits.

also if you made a deposit to the old bitcoin address you could have contacted support by making a ticket with your transaction ID and they would most probably refund your account.
it happened to me once before and they solved it within reasonable timing.

I have been using cex for a while now but this recent development shocked me beyond imaginations.

I generated a new btc address early last month which in turn i used for a signature campaign and after receiving my payment i decided to check for the balance and discovered that there is nothing in my account, i later proceed to know the status of my address since i can see the transaction on the blockchain but there is no deposit address in my account.

I sent a ticket to their support and they replied me that they have warned 4 times before the wallet synchro.

The fund is 0.00357 btc which i feel like i can afford to overlook but what will happen if the fund is 15 btc ?

It's a bit your fault too. Why would you use an exchange wallet address as your receiving address? It's not reliable or safe and they change address from time to time. And they did say that they warned you about the wallet synchronization. Make sure you choose a proper address next time.

Thank you guys for sympathizing with me, i am even thankful to God that it is not more than that amount because i shall still be shocked by now.

Which offline wallet is safe and reliable and less prone to hackers attacks.

Feel sorry on what happened to your balance. Im using c-cex for a couple months but i suggest not to use any echanges as your btc address. Im not leaving my funds there for more than 4days just to be sure.

If you even use an exchange address only for a day maybe 2 that's it. You can't use that for more then a day/two you could loose everything ti's to risky and not recommended.
