15 months and still no Monarch. The revised "B" chips are supposedly working. Given that they have not put a chip to board and shown anything remotely close to hashing we are still weeks or months yet to see the Monarch 28nm. Still you can't get an immediate refund as per FTC rules.

WOW this guys (BFL) are really taking their time with the NOnarch,, Their going to have to give their customer extra GH/s again ....

If you want to get added to the class action go here I am sure the lawyers would be glad to read about the 2x and 3x they are promising fits right in with claims they made in the case filing. It is interesting that BFL is continuing to offer "pre-orders" and "promises" for future compensation instead of just refunding people.

Power & Performance better than expected
 The initial power consumption numbers for Monarch are in and they're about 20% better than anticipated, meaning we expect the Monarch to consume 0.45W/GH at the chip level. This translates to about 300W per 600GH at the wall. Chip performance of all systems is as good as or better than predicted. Chip Delay
 The initial batch that we currently have in hand is not suitable to ship to customers. This is due to a problem in a top metal layer of the chip that prevents some engines from initializing when the chip is first powered on. (With ASIC design, there are a number of layers to a chip; most of those layers are in silicon, but the last few layers are in a special type of metal. Subsequent batches were held in wait just prior to the metal layers so that we could affect any necessary changes and proceed with chip production from that point, drastically reducing the time it takes to bring a new batch of chips to life.) The problem was positively identified and the fix is already in progress; however it will take approximately 5 weeks before we get packaged chips in hand, meaning the deployment of the Monarch will be delayed about 5 weeks from now. The specific date is still being determined, but I wanted to get an update out as soon as possible.

Refunds & Delay Compensation

 Because of the delay, we're offering several different forms of compensation that vary based on order pricing and order date:

$4680 600GH Monarchs

Free performance upgrades
 All customers who ordered 600GH Monarchs prior to the price decrease on November 28, 2013 will be upgraded to the Imperial Monarch product, which is a new, high performance version of the card. The Imperial Monarch will operate at 1 TH/s (+ / - 20%).

Six Month Refund or Double Shipment Guarantee
 If you’ve been waiting in queue for six months or more, you qualify for either a full refund in USD, OR double the hardware you ordered. This latter option will come in the form of (a) first shipping you the new Imperial Monarch, giving you an expected 160-175% of your ordered hashrate, and then (b) an additional Standard 600 GH Monarch at the end of the queue, giving you another 100% hashrate boost, totaling an expected 250+% of your ordered hashrate once all products have shipped. (Note: Electing the refund cancels the Imperial Monarch upgrade offer in the first section above.)

50% off Voucher
 If your paid order is less than 6 months old but you paid $4680 for your Monarch, you will instead receive an Imperial Monarch as described above, as well as a 50% off discount on an additional Standard Monarch at the end of the queue.

Full Price 300GH Monarchs
 For 300GH Monarch orders, similar but slightly different offers will be extended. Customers will be contacted with specifics via email soon.

Mining By the GigaHash
 If your Mining By the GH paid order is more than 6 months old, you will receive 2x the hashrate purchased.

Reduced Price Orders
 Individual orders that are less than 6 months old and that paid for the reduced price 600GH or 300GH Monarch will likely not be delayed past the expected delivery date.

I had a late Jalapeno order (originally looked like september delivery, more like dec/jan) and cancelled it with paypal following some tips posted around these forums at the time.

True! the letter was sent out to first batch customer and its a legal document, Soooooo I don't think they will go back on their promise. But let see what happens next

Very glad I bought $2500 of BTC instead of BFL (or other ASICs) in Feb of 2012. 50x return on the ones I sold so far. 
A little sad I bought $2500 of GPUs in Dec 2012. They generated a good return via Litecoin mining but no where near as good as buying BTC. 

Soooooo glad I didn't buy BFL, I would have missed the bus and only gotten .15 BTC back for every 1 BTC lost. 

You wanna quote these lies I've told Bickski?  Yet again you are attributing to me things that have not happened.  You're the one who lies and evades things... Where's that $2800 in BTC you were going to buy?(Or should I say $1700 in BTC now...)  Oh, that's right, you bought $160 of FRC instead.  You couldn't even man up to a wager YOU put out there.

There is no over the top in warning people off BFL if they consistently lie about their own deliver dates and over promise on their miners specs. At what point do you simply let people lie cheat and steal money from others? I suspect even though many are somewhat happy that BFL locks up some hash rate the reality is that BFL is not affecting hash rate any more. Antminer, knC , Asicminer and others are building farms behind the scenes so it is doubtful the people buying Monarchs today would have any appreciably impact in 6 to 12 months time when they get their units given the the factory mining farms are really what is driving the hash rate vertical. The issue isn't that they are helping make informed miners more profit but rather their predatory and less than ethical business practices are damaging some lives by taking food off people's table and it is worth making a big stink to draw attention to the fact they are purposefully misleading customers and not following FTC regulations and most likely selling untested product in the US that should be investigated by the appropriate state and federal authorities in the US and EC.

Bottomline BCP is not ethical enough to admit his Monarch was a horrible investment. I suspect he continues to shill for BFL in order to get rebates or has been given a deal for hashing power from BFL if he continues to lie for them about the Monarch or to basically slander and derail threads with ad hominem attacks. Ignore is too good for BFL shills. Really these threads save new members money. For every lie BCP or Inaba tells they are found out and someone reads it and they quickly decide not to buy BFL. Anyone saying they support BFL at this point is likely paid off to do so.

Every newbie should buy from BFL in bulk.

When they realize the mistake they made, they won't be able to get their (re)funds back, right BCP?

BFL is helping the community by weeding out the unwise and alleviating them of their wallets full of cash and any notions of profit. Lets welcome them, these newbies never had a chance to see what hit them after buying from BFL.

I'm sorry, but if you ordered a Monarch it is your own fault. You'd have to be a retard to think that they were going to deliver it anywhere near on time when they said they would. You would know this if you did any research at all in to BFL.  And if you didn't do any research, again, it's your fault.

I do feel bad for anyone who ordered pre-Monarch products like the Jalapeno etc.  But the Monarch.  Ya that's your own fault buddy.

I have to admit, I've always been pretty amused by the butthurtness against BFL... but I'll explain why:

I came across a guy on ebay selling pre-orders for jalapenos at $600 bucks as early as July 2012... after doing a bit of research on the new "ASIC" devices that were being imagined, I looked up BFL's site directly and saw they were selling pre-orders for $150. I thought, "this is as big of a gamble as the $400 I spent on buying bitcoin at $6 and now its at $10, so what the hell."

Sure, I saw they were supposed to ship in October and it was August 2012 at the time, but I had just sold a bunch of crap on ebay and had some paypal money sitting around. So I went for it.

Since I was/am a believer in the future value of Bitcoins, there was no way I was going to spend (and potentially lose) 15 bitcoins on it, but $150? Sure, that's essentially nothing since it won't be worth $150 if spent later.

October came and went..... and I'd almost forgotten about the purchase. Then came the beginning of the great mania of early 2013 when the price started climbing....$20, $30, $40, $65.... that's when I started looking at what happened to that $150 I'd spent.... and that was when I first found the people FREAKING OUT that they'd sunk bitcoins into their pre-orders and those little devices were now costing them $1000.

"Huh," I thought, "...well, at least I'm only out $150 in play-money from paypal."

Then towards the end of May, I got an email from BFL asking me if I wanted to upgrade my device to 7.5gh/s for an extra $100... I quickly wrote back asking if it would change my place in the shipping cue.... to which they responded, "No, you are still scheduled to ship at the end of May." So another $100 of paypal money went to BFL.  So along with shipping, I was in for a grand total of $265.

Just as promised, my box arrived about a week later.... 10 months after I gambled on a preorder.... and now 8 months later, it has mined me about 11 bitcoins. Of course, it doesn't generate that much now... but if one is long on bitcoin, then even .002 a day is something.

I've remained silent about my positive experience with BFL since there are still people who are pretty butthurt about their unsuccessful gambling, but I figure now is as good of a time as any to say: THANKS BFL!

I think its a great topic... Cointerra is going the extra mile to HELP their customers and not just to use them for their own Glory. Butterfly Labs uses their customers for their own Glory and to ONLY to Build their own Empire.

It sounds like you ordered a nonarch without doing due diligence. I'm a former BFL customer, and none of us were recommending them...
As for cointerra, are you an actual customer, or are you using them to make a point about BFL?
Cointerra is not #1. They are under-delivering, and they're making up for their underestimation with...coupons. As though any of us will ever order from them again.
