Are there allready experience by adding more chips on jalapeno?

Is it possible to add more chips without reflashing the amtel?

The reason for my question today I got my 4 chip sample from butterfly labs and if possible why not add some of them on my jally?

Cheers...

I honestly thought they were gonna try to get the L/S on that board however they changed the L/S image to the same as the single last week so am guessing they have given up and just keeping that board for jallys, all speculation of course.

Am curious of the L/S will they mount all chips at one end with a single heat sink or spread them with two?

Don`t forget that pcb was originally for the little single, there is a reason that they are not using them for L/S and L/S are now a long board.

I do not know the reasons but I guess its related to the power issues.

The Jalapeno enclosure+HSF was orignally designed for a 60W load, so I imagine adding another 2-3 chips should be ok power wise.

Hi,
just wondering with the chip sales and release of firmware - how likely do you think it will be that we can stick on up to 6 more chips in our Jalapenos (and little singles I guess) to make them earn their keep?
I was wondering if the guy with the IR rework station could do this it could be handy.
Any ideas on whether this could work?
i.e.

1. Disassemble board from assembly
2. Solder 1-6 additional chips to board
3. Flash firmware via JTAG to enable other all chips
4. Upgrade heatsink/fan
5. Rework power connector with PCIE?
6. ...
