i don't mean to offend...why is your Trust Score at zero ?  my score and your score are identical ?  =)   I was told to use John K. by a friend.  i will wait till Tuesday, after my own positive feedback should be in, if there are no buyers....i will more than likely cancel raffle.  thank you for the offer Ninjaboon

wow, thank you for the pointers and advice.  I like it.  as far as positive feedback goes, I should have some by Monday.  check my other posting....I am confident this other listing will cement me as being legit.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/i-have-3-cube-miners-for-sale-75-btc-each-plus-shipping-407299

when I initially thought of doing a raffle, it thought it would be a good way for someone just starting to get a great deal (if they win)..while not breaking the bank if they lose.  And it also allows me to get a decent price on  my miner.

I think letting someone pick their #'s is a good idea.  the stock can be something like Priceline, Netflix, etc, those always move up or down several dollars.  I am not too big on the whole escrow deal.  eBay & paypal made me weary.  I had a couple of chargebacks that I got scammed on...so that's why I stick to CL and I thought I would try my luck with this forum.

but if people insist on using escrow, we can use John K or something like that.  And if anyone is looking to bet on this weeks 49ers @ Caronlna game...message me.  I am in the process of negotiating a wager with someone, I am betting a Cube Miner against .78 BTC.  if he turns it down, if someone w/HERO or other trustworthy status is interested in picking up that wager....let me know.

FYI, I want my home town team the 49ers and I will go by the Vegas spread, currently it's Carolina +1.5.  So if anyone from Carolina wants to support their team   =)

I love it...too funny.  those are very odd statistics for the stock of google.  how about if I use Apple's stock price ?  =)

I thought if I used a stock that is well known, and has good price movement it would be fair.  I thought possible buyers would prefer something visible
rather than #'s in a hat---which they cannot witness being drawn---unless I Skype ?  I will keep this posting up for a couple more days, but as of now, it appears to be a flop.

would anyone be interested in a Cube Miner raffle ?  10 tickets at .10 btc each ticket ?  or I can do 20 tickets at .05 btc each, using the same stock price method, and the buyers  can do a consensus majority vote as to which stock they would like to determine the winner of the raffle ?

or is my idea lame ?

im atually pretty interested in this idea
a few pointers would be

use an escrow that way if you dont send the miner to the winner of the auction people will get there money back from the escrow. you have to do this untill you have some feed back as most people simply wont trust you

make it a rule that you announce the winners user name so the community can do what it does best and check and confirm your offering legit auctions.

use something with alot of movement stock is a good idea but aa big company like google dosnt have alot of movement, id say something like YEN would be a good idea. dosnt have to be good stock just a hard to predict stock. or maybe even bitcoin price on btc-e at a certain time

let me know what you think and ill probably buy a ticket or 2

might also be worth selling tickets and letting the user pick there ticket number from the list of available numbers

and last but not least let people know where your shipping from eu/uk buyers avoid the US because of issues with customs and is shipping free?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benford's_law

Benford's Law, also called the First-Digit Law, refers to the frequency distribution of digits in many (but not all) real-life sources of data. In this distribution, the number 1 occurs as the leading digit about 30% of the time, while larger numbers occur in that position less frequently: 9 as the first digit less than 5% of the time. Benford's Law also concerns the expected distribution for digits beyond the first, which approach a uniform distribution.
This result has been found to apply to a wide variety of data sets, including electricity bills, street addresses, stock prices, population numbers, death rates, lengths of rivers, physical and mathematical constants, and processes described by power laws (which are very common in nature). It tends to be most accurate when values are distributed across multiple orders of magnitude.

Sorry to be a nerdy buzzkill, but out of the 2363 historical closing prices since 2004:

ticket 1 =  .00 - .09 comes up 339 times - or 14.3% of the time.

ticket 9 = .80 - .89 comes up the least at 203 times - or 8.6% of the time.

BFL Jalapeno Miner Raffle 6 Devices - Jalapeno Raffle #1 - 10 tickets left

Jalapeno Raffle #1 tickets can be purchased by sending .05 btc payment per to the following address:
13XCCwWWeAkznh97RsxT4gadu1891XdZBx

I have 6 BFL Jalapeno miners that I am going to raffle off individually.
The miners are not new, they are "used" and have been mining for a couple of months with
no issues.  The miners hash between 7ghs - 8.2 ghs each.  I currenlty run the devices without the cases, but I will be including the
cases in the package along with the power adapter, and usb cable.

Each Jalapeno will be raffled off individually.  I am selling 10 tickets at .05 btc each. to ensure fairness, the winning ticket
will be determined by the closing day's price of google's stock on the Nasdaq.  i will be using the CENTS value
to determine winning ticket.   Each raffle ticket will be assigned one of the following values:

ticket 1 =  .00 - .09
ticket 2 =  .10 - .19
ticket 3 =  .20 - .29
ticket 4 =  .30 - .39
ticket 5 =  .40 - .49
ticket 6 =  .50 - .59
ticket 7 =  .60 - .69
ticket 8 =  .70 - .79
ticket 9 =  .80 - .89
ticket 10 = .90 - .99

for instance, the closing price for Google stock on Jan 7th, 2014 was $1,138.86 Jan 7, 4:00PM EST.  So that means the winning #s belonged to
ticket #9 which had the vaulues of .80 - .89.  I will use Yahoo Finance's Stock Quote at 8pm Pacific Standard time to determine
the winner.  (i wait that long only to make sure that all closing bell transactions are fully tabulated).  Raffle will take place when all tickets have been sold, so if all tickets were sold on a Monday, we would use the closing price for Tuesday, not Monday.  if all tickets are sold on a Friday, we will use the closing price
for the coming Monday the following week.

should this raffle flop, and I not be able to sell the necessary 10 tickets, I will refund all purchased tickets for Jalapeno Raffle #1.

if you have any questions feel free to ask, I will do my best to answer in a timely manner.

Jalapeno Raffle #1 tickets can be purchased by sending .05 btc payment per to the following address:
13XCCwWWeAkznh97RsxT4gadu1891XdZBx

Once payment has been made, please PM me, and include your wallet address, and transaction id.  I will then
verify, and send you your ticket #'s.

Thanks
