Fake customer support... that's a new low
Your $4mil at work
That confirms he is using socks.

And the following confirms he doesn't use them.

I wonder where the foul mouthed BFL spokesdude has gone too. The silence is deafening. Hello? If you miss your daily quota of personal attacks and trolling accusations, this is going to reflect badly in your performance review under the "productivity" section. Please think of the children and save Christmas.

Are you so dense that you haven't figured it out yet?  I only come in here and whip up the natives when the BFL mania dies down.  Right now, it's a raging fire, you don't need my input.  The top 10+ threads in the hardware forum are all about BFL.  If things start dying down again, I'll post more.

...and they're mostly debates about whether BFL is staffed by idiots or thieves.

You are one of my best workers Smiley  I appreciate you more than you know.

Thank you! Must be nice saving all the effort of creating sockpuppet accounts yourself.

Absolutely!  I don't believe in sock puppet accounts, I just get people like you to post constantly.

Dave's working this weekend, but doesn't know what's going on. Nasser, the Persian in France, is posting replies late at night penning in excellent English. Josh is nowhere to be found. Jody is home with her chickens till the next photo shoot at Camp BFL. And Sonny is probably on his jetski on some lake in the Ozarks.

I wonder what it would cost to wave a red flag on the Dushanbe Flagpole for one day.

NO! We are all just starting new threads for the heck of it, and playing a game consisting of bumping BFL threads so that Avalon and KnC have somebody to play with.  Grin

Unfortunately, a big part of the problem is that a lot of potential BFL customers never see this forum. They never read up on BFL's actual history and shenanigans.

Some potential customer might of just heard of Bitcoin for the first time yesterday. They then google around for a few minutes, see BFL ads somewhere as they have a strong online presence, and place an order, all expecting BFL's claims to be accurate, not a bunch of lies.

I was typing just this type of post, yea is sorry i think they see some of those old articles from gizmodo or ars or whatever of a working jalapeno making 800 dollars worth of btc......in Jan.

It is sad but common sense is becoming a rare trait.

It's a pretty serious dent in the credibility and the ethics of the established journalistic outfits that were happy to give BFL at minimum a tacit endorsement of their business all so they could wet their little panties over a money printing device (ahead of paying customers). I'd already started wondering about the journalistic biases of, for instance, ArsTechnica, but now I truly know how many pinches of salt to take their reporting with. It wasn't outside their range of expertise, or indeed their job description to do an accurate portrayal of BFL, but that didn't take place in the product placement, ahem, the review.

I said this at the time and was slated for criticising the lack of journalistic integrity displayed by Arts Technica, and Tech Crunch.

Could this be a pre-emptive clarion call to a micropayment funded, de-corporatised attempt at objective journalism? If information is power, and the public are slowly beginning to realise that they're getting what they pay for with free to air media, could Bitcoin micro-payments revolutionise the information market by delivering a more convincingly transparent and unbiased reporting framework? What would it take for you to really believe the quality of what you're reading? I've long posited that those that hold the greatest power and responsibility should have to surrender more of their privacy in order to prove their trustworthiness, only the genuinely committed would work under such conditions. I'd happily sacrifice some freedom and privacy if it helped elevate trust in a new quality of journalism and reporting (assuming I can come up with good copy and chase down good topics, of course). Too much journalism is stories, and who can sell a story that doesn't satisfy the description? I want solidly believable information, not the narrative equivalent of a rollercoaster.

Kind of serves them right for handing over thousands of dollars without doing any research first. No sympathy here.

When the investment was a few hundred for a Jalapeno you could be excused for having a gamble, now that we are talking just under $5k a lot of people will borrow for that amount, and pay interest for many months on the loan.

Remember the new BFL chips have not had tape out to the foundry yet, expect a 3-4mth. delay from tape out, for BFL to get the wafers back from the foundry, send them off to the chip packaging company, get them back, build a PCB, and build/debug a working prototype to see if it even meets the design specifications. Then they can start looking into production and shipping. I can't see that happening by Nov/Dec 2013 which their Monarch ad promises.

If the bosses at BFL actually told their employees what was happening, they would run the risk of their own employees reporting them to the authorities.
I am sure the rank and file @ BFL have no idea what is actually going on.
