You can take a look at my order book (http://bitcoin.clarkmoody.com/order-book/) to see the action happen live on MtGox.

If you watch closely, you will see how orders go into the book after price moves to fill the gaps. Also, there are tons of orders way out from the strike price all the time.

Thanks this order book is really good can spend awhile watching this! thanks for the info  Grin

A bid is what people want to buy at and an ask is what people are willing to sell at. When a bid price equals a sell price, a trade is made.

You can sell to the highest bidder or, if you feel that his offer is too low, you can set your own price and your order will show up in the orderbook until someone buys at that price. The same thing for buying.

Check the MtGox orderbook for example. They have much more volume than Intersango...

Yes, figured that was the case. It all comes down the volumn it seems. I was wondering why my trade wasn't being executed its because nobody wants to sell me them at the ask price I put in! lol

Thanks for the response!

So just a trading question...

I'm on Intersango right now and I see  Bids & Asks:

I'm assuming bids is what people want to buy it at? and Asks is what people are willing to sell it at ?

So when I see a bids of  6,5, & 2 people are only willing to buy at those prices ? lol   and then on the other side I see .. 8, 15,19, 35 and 43!  is that really the price people are willing to sell at?

thanks for any help!
