@Tipstar, I want to thank you very much for setting the record straight that this is a fake news, i just realized it now that I opened the link in your post. My apology for starting the topic, I had no idea that it was a fake news until now. When I saw the news I thought that it was unbelievable and wondered how come the Pope who is the head of the Catholic church, that is against abortion, is now advocating for depopulation, that was the reason why I started the topic to get members views. I guess it's best to lock this thread, since the information is misleading.

You can immediately see that the link is suspicious because of the address and random characters. If it came from a reputable source, it will look just like this one I quoted.

I am a firm believer that the state and the church should be separated so why would we have Bill Clinton and the Pope discussing ethical matters for the sake of political issues.

Overpopulation is indeed a potential problem for a country but it doesn’t mean we should “depopulate” that’s is just morally wrong. Do you really think the Pope would be behind such an idea? The idea that there are undesirable people that don’t deserve to live should not be present in any kind of government institution at all.

The Pope has constantly asked for a ceasefire in Gaza. What makes you think he would be saying we should depopulate?

Instead of depopulating, I think proper family planning must be in order. Education is very powerful especially if used right.

The media is one of the major invention bridging peace to the world, sabotaging and inciting criticisms in the society..
It is just hard to believe which is right and which is wrong when two media sites carries a particular news but with different contents of information.

I have really come to understand the concept of the disreputable media to be that whenever they want to drag public attentions, they would always indulge on designing fake news with a psychological understanding that the people of the society are more interested to hear negative rumours which maybe lies than the positive which maybe the truths.

I myself thought as much how the two able influential men could say such. It could disagree that it was all manipulated bunch of fake news just as said, fake site.

This is fake news but elitists around the world do have this point of view. Bill Gates said something similar regarding population growth being a problem & a threat to life. He was behind the development of a vaccination for malaria which maimed & made many people infertile in Africa. I don’t trust any of these elitists.

Nice, my first thought on it is that a pope or a religious leader is pro life and they won't call for something like this. A depopulation that's being done as many of those conspiracies theories probably half baked true. But then, a pro life will never call for it unless we see or hear it on a public and they're supporters of it but then, I haven't seen any of them then.

But as for the politicians, they're in it for the money and whatever advocacy that they'll make, they are going to focus on it for them to get the spot and lime light of the attention of the people where they'd be thought as heroes and will definitely call to be as pro life as well as that's what the sentiment of the world when it comes to this matter.

How unexpected... When I saw thread title, I thought it may be another conspiracy theory, something similar like we often have with Bill Gates.
Exactly, I know right and it was Bill Gates that planned and called for the pandemic and soon there will be another.  Tongue

Even site name l.kphx.net, it doesn't looks like legit source of information at all.

It does not hold. A Pope calling for depopulation is like a vegan asking for a rib eye steak.
Well, vegans is strange people in general. They don't like meat, but still want to pretend that they're eating meat, with all this vegan burgers, nuggets and similar plant based food Cheesy.

Give all before death
Recently there has been fake news in my country because of cervical cancer vaccines. Due to the high rate of women dying of this disease, the government has mandated the health ministry to vaccinate teenagers. There has been a spread of fake news that this vaccine was designed to stop women's fertility. There have been many social media posts discouraging people from taking the vaccine because it was designed by world leaders to reduce the population in my country.

I suspected it could have been some fake news in the same moment I saw both the name of Bill Clinton and the Pope Francis being attached to something as controversial as the controlled decrease of the population of the planet. It would be very weird to see the Pope openly to talk about it, actually, because in many Christian denominations and branches, it is a must to have children and to reproduce, but that depends on the specific church of sect we talk about.
Great job @Tipstar for verifying that this news is fake. I know that the Catholic church is against abortion, therefore they will not advocate for depopulation at the same time. Such a statement can destabilize the church in my country because culturally child birth is compulsory after marriage.

Do not die for Putin
It does not hold. A Pope calling for depopulation is like a vegan asking for a rib eye steak. The Catholic Church is all about more souls to save and Bill Clinton... I do not even know what the old partyguy is about now.

No, the elites do not want less people, they want more people - they do not have to live with the consequences of overpopulation, lack of employment, lack of food or anything like it.

Anyways... there is people out there who genuinely believe controlling the number of people in the planet could solve many problems, there is even a thread here in the polítics section about it.

I came across this news some days back and I began to wonder whether overpopulation is part of the major problems that we're facing today in the world. Pope Francis and Bill Clinton, are both prominent people in the world, the Pope is a respected religious leader and head of the Catholic church, while Bill Clinton, is a renowned politician and former president of America. They're both influencial people and what they say matters in the world's religious, politics and economics. So if what they're advocating for comes to reality, will the world be better for it? https://l.kphx.net/s?d=7678471627321821519&extra=Q1RSWT1ORyZMTkc9ZW4tVVM=&g=6e11378cb897003ad1e0ef00bd152f90

Although overpopulation is a problem in underdeveloped countries because of their backwardness in terms of technological advancements and poor leaderships in their economies. But I believe that developed countries don't have the problems of overpopulation, in fact they're accepting immigrants into their countries to boost their workforces. I don't think that it's right to focus on reducing the population of the world, instead couples should be advised to give birth to the number of children that they can carter for.

Reducing the human population can degenerate to wiping out people who are seen as undesirables and mass genocide through technology. It can lead to increased abortion rate and women taking contraceptive pills, and this is something that the Catholic church preaches against. The leaders of the world should focus on green planet, advance technology to grow more food, not reducing the human race. Everybody born into this world has a right to live.
