Oh boy it does look that OP's the one that fucked up. I'm scanning through the subreddits and read this reply from Binance here.

Part of the quote says:

We have also already advised you to contact your local law enforcement, as shown in your screenshot, but oddly enough, it seems you are more interested in posting on Reddit. Furthermore, your video of your altered screenshot still does not match the real response that you received.

Along with that, this quote from here:

This user clearly fell for a phishing scam, check his previous threads for reference:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/9fhn8z/binance_just_stole_my_money_after_getting_all_my/

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/9gjuu9/continuation_binance_just_stole_my_money_after/

Binance has never asked anyone before to use Skype to talk to them, especially for a live video call and every time someone asks him to show the headers for the email's he received, he simply ignores them.

If OP indeed got phished, and if he was phished successfully, then unfortunately...

This was the thread that got a lot of upvotes on r/Bitcoin. OP made another thread this was just today and binance's support gave the same comment on the current situation.

If I had that kind of BTC and Binance froze it I would immediately fly out to their office negotiate with them to settle this problem once in for all or at least speed up the process since you said the local authorities doesn't provide much of a help.

after reading that reddit thread, it's really obvious that's his only option. the likelihood that he's already given in-depth ID documents to phishing scammers is extremely high. binance freezing the account is in his best interest.

OP, your account is worth 1200 BTC. surely you can arrange to fly out, retain a counselor and deal with this in person at binance's offices. why bother continuing to post here or on reddit?

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.

Probably, people suggest the same in r/ thread so do I.

That's not just penny of BTC that was frozen out there but worth 1k+ or millions of $$ as its current price, I'm sure OP can get a better lawyer to settle this.

It did get enough publicity I remember them saying his case was on investigation. Binance blocked his account because OP gave most of his information to a scammer and couldn't provide enough proof that's according to the top reddit comments(threads mentioned below).
I don't understand why people there keep stopping OP coz he was scammed by merely a video call in skype with binance, and email convo, whereas OP provides a screenshot with the email header of binance on zendesk, unless OP gave his login details where it will be questionable for support asking login details

Oh, whoops. What was Binance's response to your Reddit threads? Mind linking them here? If you posted on r/cryptocurrency, I assume it didn't get enough publicity, as I don't think I have seen your post.

Hey there, thanks for your comment. Actually, I've submitted a lot of posts on Reddit, and even Binance has commented these posts, but it haven't yet made me much closer to the solution. Anyways, thanks for your comment. I'll keep this thread updated.

Hello, everyone! Sadly, I’ve returned this week with no update on my account. As many will remember, my account that had a significant amount of money in it on Binance was blocked months ago and still hasn’t been reactivated. I tried to get my account unblocked by giving Binance all the information that they requested. Throughout the whole process I’ve been informed of different reasons for why it was blocked in the first place, and the last reason was “it’s an internal investigation” and I should contact local authorities (unfortunately I’ve received the same answer from them every time).

I only used the account for arbitrage, in the same way that I do on other big exchanges where I haven’t had any problems with my accounts.

Why I’m coming to the public with this is that I’m asking for more assistance from Binance because I’ve already given them all necessary information that proves my identity and proves the credibility of my money. I’m open to any communication and assistance and I’m willing to provide any extra information they need from me to resolve the problem and move forward.

I don't know much about Maltese law, or whatever other jurisdiction Binance might fall under. It sounds like you're under investigation. They likely have some legal obligation to freeze your account if you or the account are under official (government) investigation. If your account wasn't ordered frozen by authorities, chances of recovery are better with some legal pressure.

I would consider the following steps:
  • Consult with a lawyer. You may be in a position to begin civil proceedings against Binance at this point. There are lawyers who specialize in recovering frozen bank accounts for foreign account holders. This seems similar.
  • Contact the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority and the European Commission, file complaints against Binance and ask for advice on how to proceed.
  • You could try filing police reports against Binance, both local and in Malta.

If you're 100% sure you complied with all their requirements, then as with any other problems concerning exchanges, I suggest posting your problem on Reddit(assuming you haven't yet). Sometimes bringing the exchange to a bad light would force them to act accordingly, as to not spoil their name.

Yes, there's no guarantee for this move to solve your problem, but you got nothing to lose by posting on Reddit. Cross your fingers in the hopes that you get many upvotes from the community, for better publicity. Also, give as much details as you can in your post.

Best of luck.

I already have a lawyer currently working on the problem, but government regulation in the crypto industry depends on where you live, and in turn, how much assistance the local authorities can truly provide. That’s why resolving my problem could take anywhere from a few months to a few years, and it’s already been quite a few months. I’m incurring losses because part of the funds in the account I borrowed at interest and I need to return them but can’t as they are frozen. I do believe that Binance can hear me out and meet me halfway.

Again, thanks to everyone for sticking with me and supporting me through this tough time. Hopefully they will get back to me soon and I can have my account back.
