Most definitely NOT a false positive. Couple of days ago Apple informed me that there was a suspicious activity relating to my apple ID and I had to change my password. This happened for the first time and I have been an apple user for about 10 years now.
I am not a newbie and know how to opsec.
Now this thing flares up and at last I have an explanation.
Awful.

I remember that Hitman Pro once flagged Bitcoin Core as unsafe because it contained a trojan virus according to the report, but it was a false positive. Not sure why they keep flagging crypto related clients falsely, but it's nothing to worry about.

https://www.virustotal.com/ is a handy site allowing you to see how a wide variety of anti virus software brands react to whatever you try to screen. Some will flag it falsely, but most will not react at all.

When it comes to trading I have never been a fan of using whatever software based client since I am too paranoid about potential flaws and whatnot. It's always much safer to access the site itself. The less you have to install the better.

Bitcoin FTW!
Most definitely a false positive with the Reddit post linked above explaining things. Seems the source you were using is a bit late to the party with the posting of the article, though we could still potentially be wrong. I don't see anything in the linked Reddit thread signifying the issue has been resolved, though I assume those users disabled their antivirus systems to continue using Binance or something of the sort. I did some more Googling and I was unable to come up with anything in regards to this matter.

This is an old issue but I don't know if binance fixed this issue.

Look at this post https://www.reddit.com/r/binance/comments/9w83wp/bitdefender_flagging_binance_macos_app/

According to some post out there, it's a false positive. So you don't need to be worry.

If you doubt that it's not safe better to don't use their client app instead trade directly to binance site.
