There is very little water and food in the country, but now you can trade Bitcoin and Ethereum. I hope it will help people to be happy and increase the quality of life.

It is great to see one of the biggest exchange is localizing slowly and surely by accepting the local fiat payments, they are spreading in more and more countries by accepting local currency deposits, i think binance will grow huge as a result of this in coming years and this will also helo in adoption of crypto.

Well yes, but unless USDT crashed there is little point for someone to use this exchange instead of main Binance since it's impossible to deposit fiat if you don't live in Uganda and you can temporarily short on Tether anyways in the main.

I got verified and it seems if you don't own Uganda mobile number (since it looks to be the only option to deposit fiat) you can only top up your balance with crypto (BTC, ETH and BNB). Not very convenient.

It's a really good step to adopt crypto on a global basis. States are getting one step closer with each passing day. They see the future of this technology.

Months after announcing the launch of Uganda’s first-ever fiat-crypto exchange, Binance has made another step towards facilitating cryptocurrency trading in the East African country.

Beginning October 17, users will be able to make deposits to Binance Uganda in the leading cryptocurrencies bitcoin and ethereum as well as in Ugandan Shillings. This will allow trading in bitcoin to Ugandan shillings and vice versa as well as ethereum to Ugandan shillings and vice versa. However, trading in the BTC/UGX and ETH/UGX pairs will not commence immediately and will be announced at a later date.

“Trading on Binance Uganda will open soon with BTC/UGX and ETH/UGX trading pairs. The start time for trading will be released in a later announcement,” the cryptocurrency exchange wrote in a statement.

This is good news and I think the African content is buying into the cryptocurrencies market and blockchain technology. I just did know that the future of cryptocurrencies is very bright and binance is really making impact on exchange platforms. IF Africa is give a chance they are going to make great impact.
