I'm looking to trade a small number of bitcoins for cash and a reliable website that does so, any suggestions?

Much have been said but which type of cash do you need, usd, eur or others, you can also check the local bitcoin for the people in your locality.

You can use coinbase. I buy bitcoins there, My USD to bitcoins. Im happy that no problem occur during the transaction. No hasstle. I bought bitcoins there 2x. Or try localbitcoins.com . If you want to buy bitcoin using local currency
Side note: you have to remember not to use coinbase as your online wallet provider. Just buy bitcoin there if you have to and transfer it somewhere else.

Preferably to software wallet of your choice: Bitcoin Core, Electrum, Multibit HD etc.

Coinbase is not suitable as a wallet due to their very restrictive ToS and tendency to spy on your every transaction.

You can actually trade bitcoin with currency. It just depends on what currency you want to trade to. I've never used local bitcoin, but I will try it later on. I think it is worth a try though.

I'd say that is probably isn't a bad idea to try out localbitcoins and see if there are any places to sell in your country/city there, but you'd have to be careful and follow the same procedures you'd do for a lot of types of exchanges. Aside from that, you have to find your own country's exchanges and use those based on the information you'd gather.

I would also recommend localbitcoins, there is usualy the largest list of traders that sell or buy Bitcoins for cash.
I would just add that if you chose one of them and face to face trading, try to meet in public and try not to be the one who gives money/coins first. Precausion is important.

or escrowed required. Dont trust easily, just be wise. Agree with you localbitcoins is one of the best exchanging or buying or selling but you know someone that is really trusted then go for it but be cautious all the time dont lower you guard.

There are several exchanging website but you need to include to which payment processor you need to exchange your bitcoin. Few days ago i have used changer.com to exchange bitcoin to perfect money myself (small amount) you can also check them or you can also create thread over currency exchange section of this forum and wait for any intrested trader to contact back , but don't forget to use escrow in middle.

May I ask what kind of cash?  You could consider things like PayPal as such, but there's also plain old currency and it makes a difference.

The currency exchange part of this forum might be an option, as there are a number of folks who are always looking to buy bitcoin.  You have to watch out for the reversible payment methods, that's the only thing.  I've never used localbitcoin, but give it a shot.  I'm definitely leery of meeting people in person and exchanging stuff.  Gives me the willies.

It is trading discussion topic. Anyway, if you want to use standard bitcoin exchange you can choose from plenty of good services.

Almost every country at this point has their own local BTC exchange, question is, what currency do you want to trade?

You can also use services like https://localbitcoins.com/http:// to buy and sell bitcoin directly in p2p fashion from people in your vicinity to avoid KYC/AML.

But if you are a newbie, using standard exchange will probably be more suitable.

Many exchanges and even people on the forum offer these kinds of services; just always be sure to review the site and use escrow if you are dealing with people on the forum, and you should be fine. Try to avoid methods like paypal which can be reversed, and other than that, it's your own choice what site or user to use.
