Sooner or later, the dollar is going to lose it's place as the reserve currency of the world....

Hopefully, bitcoin will help transition through that.

Everybody should read this website if they don't already... Wink

Until using BTC and converting them to other currencies and 'cashing out' becomes simpler I'd say any heavy effects are some time away*

*That is unless current methods drastically improve overnight due to some innovation or another.

If this trend continues, bit coin could possibly render the dollar useless and it just doesn't make sense to me that the government would allow this to happen because this new decentralized currency threatens the survival of the dollar, doesn't it?

I dont believe bitcoin could possibly render the dollar useless, bitcoin is just payment method for internet and worldwide transfers. In other places using Dolar is much better in my opinion

From what I am reading, the coffee shop that used that new machine for the first time ever in the world did over 10k in transactions (BTC) the first day and over one third of the 81 people who used the machine were completely new to Bit coins. If this trend continues, bit coin could possibly render the dollar useless and it just doesn't make sense to me that the government would allow this to happen because this new decentralized currency threatens the survival of the dollar, doesn't it?

I don't know too much about economics and Im still in college learning how to be a scholar, so could someone please enlighten me? This article was really informative, but now I have way more questions than I started with.  Huh

If you are smart and read up on bitcoins please join this thread. Thanks
