What the heck are you talking about? What Bitcoin transaction fee? Read the conversation again. We are talking about 3rd party service fees here.

they are talking about prepaid debt card not about bitcoin transaction fee, bitcoin transaction is still same like free but bitcoin to other bitcoin address so when you use 3rd party services you have to pay some fee for that.

What's the point of paying with Bitcoin if you pay %3 to 10 fee per transaction? Bitcoin's slogan is send money worldwide with ALMOST ZERO fee.

Well how can you spend coins on your highstreet as nearly ever shop doesn't accept bitcoin. These cards just give you the option to spend your coins directly.

Wait until bitcoins go to the price of $100,000.. Man, 0% isn't going to happen especially if fiat is involved no company would have a 0% fee..

Could you elaborate on why the things you wrote are a problem for you? I'll be able to write more and clear up some issues once I'm off mobile but for now, a few things to note:

E-coin fees are the same (or even higher) than bit-x fees (and it's not a debit card but rather a prepaid card). The usual monthly fees (and even inactive monthly fees) do not exist on the bit-x card! As it's clear, other fees apply and can be seen on the card guide page (https://bit-x.com/guide/bitx-cards). Which of those do you find too high? Of course, different people will have different opinions on these fees (which have been lowered recently, and will most likely continue dropping). Wouldn't all consumers like free services (especially so in this kind of economy)? I would. However, business costs are still a thing (until everyone accepts BTC) .

I've used all four (main) BTC card services, Bit-x, Xapo, E-coin and Advcash. The last 2 being prepaid cards. From my experiences with each (I've tested each quite well) bit-x and Xapo offer the most competitive deal, a debit card that allows you to keep your balance in BTC instead of having to exchange funds and preload the card (which isn't anything special). They're also quite competitive to other BTC exchanging services like Localbitcoin cash trades or even services which deposit fiat into your bank account, in regards to fees and convenience.

If you have any other opinions on the card please do write them here or even to the site support, but let's try to keep discussions or debates civilised. I don't own Bit-X.

Why would you use Bitcoin debit cards anyway? We have apps in our mobile phones for micro transactions. We don't need physical debit cards with high % fees.

I also agree with what most saying: they are too expensive in their present form. Therefore I don't use them.

If you need quick fiat, why not use localbitcoin.com? With a Swish app, the transaction is instant to your normal debit card.

Bit-x has a very high fee but it's more reliable than other debit cards. Every debit card has a huge fee applied to it but I agree than Bit-x shouldn't charge for activating the card. However, all the fees they charge are known from the start and hence it's a person's wish if they want to use the card or not. No compulsion there.

All Bitcoin prepaid/debit cards are useless but Bit-X is the worst. Who wants to pay ridiculous fees for nothing? Just don't use them.

haven't run into any issues with my Bit-X card yet. The issuing back is very slow for processing refunds though, but that's not Bit-X's fault

If you don't want to pay the fees associated with bitcoin debit cards, simply do not use them and stick to local fiat to Bitcoin trading. Telling people to kill themselves because you don't have a good argument makes you look like a coward and a complete moron.

Of course is fucking high, or how can they pay so much money of sig campaign every week? IMO they pay over 10 btc for sig posting, if they make money from users, how can they earn money to maintain marketing expenses.

This is exactly reason why you should stick to using bitcoin directly or fiat directly maybe other altcoin/payment system on their own but without mixing things up.
Exchange rates and fees when you are using bitcoin via some 3rd party service are bad. Skrill exchange rates are bad. Boycott these services and aim for the direct bitcoin adoption!

Let me break it down for you;

When i want to make ATM withdrawal from :
- bitx : 0,01 btc fee + 3% bank commission (on 1000 USD, fees are ~ 3,6 %)
- Skrill; first i loose about 5-10% exchanging btc to skrill here on forum, then additional ~4% in currency conversion and ATM fee's (on 1000 USD, that's ~ 9-14 %)

My advice to you is to use POS payments and purchase goods directly in store, and in larger sums, due to 0,002 btc fee per transaction.

Look at this example: I'm also a Skrill debit card user, and each time i withdraw from ATM using Skrill card, they take :
- the amount i requested from my balance
- the fee for conversion from usd to my local currency
- the ATM usage fee (bank takes that)
- + they take about 5% extra from the balance that they keep until they make sure there are no extra costs. And then they return that to my account.

Overall, the fees are really high, but thats just because you are using multiple services/company's in making your witdrawal, and ever single one o them wants their cut.
What were we supposed to do ? To curse each one of them because we don't like their prices ?

1 - Due to conversion from btc to fiat, and fees that come with using bank ATM, sometimes the complete cost cant be instantly accurately calculated so
they can either reserve more balance or to limit the overall witdrawal.

2 - It's a promotion, should be a good thing ?

3 - Fee's are not shady, maybe you don't understand them, but i would like to see them lower as well

4 - This is probably why you created this thread, to promote them

not just bit-x even its not their fault every bitcoin card will have same fees even more because they use mastercard ,mastercard take their fee from each transaction and bit-x also have to earn something so overall fee become to much for the users even i am not intrested in any card when you can use your bitcoins at more intresting ways

the whole point of bitcoin is to remove completely credit debit card and anythign related to fiat, and for this reason i'm against unification of bitcoin with fiat in this way

why people can not simply use bitcoin where they accept bitcoin with their smarthphone, and leave the rest for fiat for now, when bitcoin will reach a bigger adoption you will be able to use it directly without any bullshit auto conversion

Good to know. I saw time ago a signature campaign from bit-x and I saw that they give a debit card. Not interested because don't have to many bitcoins to spend with debit card and don't have continues flow in bitcoin to use it. So leave it as a possibility. Now I must tell thank you. My few bitcoin will be destroyed from this debit card and me instead of having more will have nothing.

This is more like service discussion thread that bitcoin discussion imo. And yes op you are somewhat right. Bitcoin debits/prepaid/credit cards are bad, really bad.
It does not matter if it is card issued Bit-X or any other company it is still the way for them to earn money on you. Personally I would not buy any bitcoin card.
It is not supporting bitcoin economy it is rather supporting parasitic satellite bitcoin services.

All prepaid cars are a joke compared to simply moving your funds from your main wallet to a Mycellium wallet in your smartphone. I'm not paying a single satoshi in fees to those guys.

All these cards don't seem worth it due to the fees. Bit-x aren't really any different though the fees are what makes me stay away. Hopefully they'll all lower them at some point when nobody is using them.

1 - In order to cashout from ATM , every transaction amount must be less than 70% of your balance (MotherFuckers)

2 - its funny how they say Monthly fees is free for the first 10000 users ... (MotherFuckers)

3 - Fees are too fucking high and so shady.

4 - i think e-coin.io is the best card (Not sure).
